Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Awesome little (and I mean little) dive bar/restaurant in soho. I have been here a few times during work lunches and its always a good meal. When you first walk in you will notice there is no hostess stand, they will yell from the back for you to proceed back toward them through the tables and bar stools. There are about 6 small, intimate tables in front and a few more toward the back in a private room. There are also about 15 bar stools if you’re lucky enough to grab one.
Food is solid, I get usually the wings or a salad. My coworkers usually do sandwiches and are very happy. Great place to check out if you’re in the area.

I ate here five days ago, though I have eaten at the restaurant off and on for 15 years during visits to NYC. I hadn’t eaten here in maybe two years. There is no particular reason for that other than I hadn’t been in this part of town at dinner time. I have had just drinks here too. The bar has quite an enjoyable cast of characters.
I had the chicken club sandwich, which I have had before, and it was just as good as in the past. I got the salad side, as usual, with their wonderful, homemade blue cheese dressing. I was by myself, but it’s the sort of place where you don’t feel weird about that. It’s just a very laid-back, good place to eat. My waitress was nice and in no hurry to get rid of me.
My only criticism would be I had a cup of coffee and it was $4. That seems too high to me for coffee that was so-so, plus there was no half and half, only milk. My bill, pre-tip, for the sandwich with salad, a glass of wine and the coffee was $32.
This really is a little, unpretentious and historical gem.

We have been to NYC a few times and always make time to visit Fanellis. Friendly staff and delicious food, but we love sitting at the bar and chilling out after a bit of shopping on Broadway and Soho. Great service and the staff always have time for a chat. Will definitely be back on our next visit!!

The bar man seen to specialise in being intimidating and rudy to the customer.
While I was there two guys walked in and ordered drinks. He made the whole bar to quiet and asked them again. It wasn't because he couldn't hear them he just got off on putting on the spot

This is a very interesting and old style cafe/bar. It's a good place to have a few drinks at the long bar with the friendly people who hang out there. The food and drink prices are reasonable for SoHo. It's also a good place to go for breakfast, brunch, lunch, snacks or an early evening meal. We had pan-seared salmon with mash, spinach and mushrooms, and meatloaf, gravy, mash and mixed vegetables. The salmon dish was very good and the meatloaf dish was good.

Old style bistro with good food in generous portions, warm if quite cramped atmosphere, and friendly efficient service. Glad we stopped in.

I had the fish and chips. The fish was great and was cod I believe. Loved the atmosphere and my wife had pasta with a glass of wine. We were very pleased and it was z a nice place to duck in to get away from the rain. Good service!

Fanelli's has been in Soho for ages, at least as long as I can remember. And each trip I am happy to have some bears after a busy day. The crowd is a nice mix of locals and tourists during 'happy hour' (there is no real happy hour but just to indicate the time) and the bar service is quick and friendly.

We stopped in for a quick drink on Thanksgiving day. It had such a friendly, local vibe that we ended up staying for a couple hours. Our bartender, Blair, was great. She was fun to talk to, and seemed genuinely happy to be there, just an all around great bartender. We didn't eat, but all the food we saw looked good. we will definitely be back on our next visit to NYC.
