For years, Morningside Park had one of the worst and most dangerous reputations in the entire city. No one would dare enter this park in the 70's, 80's, 90's or even the early 2000's. It was so bad I do not think a city official would enter the place. What a difference gentrification and time can do to a place.... More

Nice pond and fountain within the park. Like other Manhattan parks, this one is long and narrow, and its terrain slopes in places, owing to the hilly nature of Manhattan island. Great place for leisurely strolls or cardio workouts.

We wanted to visit Pupin Hall so we walked from 110th street and along the park. We even picked up a geocache along the way. The park was very scenic

This is not Central Park. We walked through the whole thing and it was nice, but not anything extraordinary. It is more rustic and natural than Central Park, so if that is what you want, this is a nice place.

This is a nice park with beautiful trees and good walking space. There are stairs down into the park from the Morningside Drive side (not to be confused with Morningside Ave). It is very close to Central Park, but calmer and a nice way to cut through up into Harlem from lower Manhattan by foot. I saw a very cute... More

You think of Manhattan as flat (except for the tall buildings), but not so. This park occupies the steep side of a hill that starts up high near Columbia University, and descends to the edge of Harlem. It's a pleasant, smallish park, with playground, picnic tables, and green space.

Its a nice park. Coming from Harlem towards Morningside through the park, one has to climb around 135 steps. Its quite busy with families and picnickers on weekends.

This was my first time staying and enjoying uptown. The park is so beautiful and it was a pleasure to see multitudes of people, including so many families enjoying this beautiful park during the dog days of summer. And it was hot!
