Phantom of the Opera is Broadways longest running musical for a reason. Phantom has been my favourite musical for years now and upon booking a trip to New York i knew a trip to the Majestic Theatre would be top of my itinerary. The theatre itself is a tier about the rest, its just so sleek and well presented, the... More

Recently saw the Phantom of the Opera at the Majestic...a very enjoyable experience...the theater, located on West 44th Street and within walking distance of Rockefeller Center, was originally built in 1927 has since been refurbished but still maintains its period charm. The seating provides excellent views of the stage, but be careful not to sit much beyond Row P in... More

The phantom of the opera is a great play and that's a fact, the play here is also good the cast was doing a great job but the effects can be better, effects for the same play in London were better. Still it's a must see and tears will be shed at the end weather the effects were brilliant or... More

Magic moments with Phantom of the Opera! Music is impressive! Voices and show excellent! Trick effects was amazing. tried to catch mistakes or to see side-scens workers... not possible. Only one thing was strange and unpleasant - at the end of the show the primary actor started to advertise souvenirs.. For 5 minutes he was speaking about this staff. Only... More

The Majestic has a wonderful "old theater" feeling to it, and is the perfect venue for the Phantom performance. Comfortable seats, good stage views, velvet curtains and high ceilings...and a dark and foreboding atmosphere for the play. And the acoustics! Incredible musical score sung by the two phenomenal lead characters. Wonderful!

Beautiful old theatre - I loved it. Lots of character. Seats were reasonably comfortable and it looked as though all of the seating had a good view of the stage. The air conditioning could have been turned down a little, but better being cooler than hot. Not sure how people with mobility problems would go as there are quite a... More

If you're a fan of theater of course you're going to dig the Majestic Theatre. It's the home of The Phantom of the Opera and it's amazing! We were not disappointed, everything was awesome and I highly recommend checking out the show!

We've been wanting to see this performance for several years, and spent quite a while saving and planning for the trip. The performance itself was fabulous - the cast was on point and the staging was fantastic. It's a great show to see live, although you have to be prepared for extremely shallow and narrow seats (seriously, we felt like... More

Well it had to be done. I am not a fan of musicals but you have to go to a Broadway show. The show was spectacular - magnificent but oh the theatre! The price we paid I expected a comfy seat. On top of that no leg room. The worst was the number of stairs. Then descending down the sheer... More

Staying in Midtown

Neighbourhood Profile
This is the iconic New York that so many visitors imagine before they visit—spectacular skyscrapers like the Chrysler Building and Empire State Building, iconic public buildings like Grand Central Terminal and the New York Public Library, and the non-stop hustle and bustle of the city streets. Fifth Avenue is a shopper's heaven where you can find every kind of store imaginable, with fashion brands ranging from the affordable to the ultra-fancy. Visit the Rockefeller Center to experience towering Art Deco grandeur, and foodies will love the busy restaurants that stay open late in Koreatown. After dark, Midtown calms down a bit, but at any time of day or night it still feels 100% New York.
