Always the best

The comedians here are always hilarious and a lot of big time comedians stop in. Last week I saw Aziz Ansari do a set.

I had awesome time there! I didn't manage to book ahead, but went there 30 minutes before to get my name in the stand in line and got in because of the many cancellations. It is a bit crowded, but still comfortable. And the comedians! They were awesome! Really funny.

You can put in a reservation ahead of time, as late as one day in advance. It secures your seat, and you purchase your tickets after the show. Tickets are $24 plus a two drink minimum. If you go to the latest show (12:15am) they let the comedians go over their usual time. We were there until almost 2:30, and... More

We really enjoyed the evening we spent here. The food and drinks were good and the line up was amazing. Jim Norton, Jessica Kirson and Aziz Ansari were all very funny. It was really cool to see a small comedy show where Aziz Ansari was the top act. I would definitely do this again.

I ended up going by myself when in New York for a meeting and it was a lot of fun. You never know who is going to show up. I saw the 9:00 show and each comedian was very funny. As you probably know, some of the most famous comedians in the world show up unannounced on a regular basis.... More

I stopped by here on a business trip to NY. I caught the 11:30 show and saw Todd Barry, Aziz Ansari, and a bunch of great comedians. The venue is small and personal. Drinks and food are reasonably priced. If you're a comedy fan, this is a must see. It's a fantastic experience just being in this room that has... More

This was the funniest of the three comedy clubs we attended this week. I chose the top 3 rated by TripAdvisor (Comedy Cellar, Gotham, New York Comedy Club). Comedy Cellar definitely deserved top spot. Not only were the comedians the best, the Underground room was comfortable, $14 cover charge low compared to the others, the requirements of 2 food items... More

My sister booked this for us as I had never been to a comedy club before. All I can say is I will go back in a heartbeat. Great seats, great atmosphere, great table service and of course some really funny comedians! Food and drink was good also.

What an incredible show and great value! Paid a little more than normal because of the holiday season but so glad we did. Every act was funny and there were plenty! The host was funny and very entertaining and most times a celebrity comedian makes an apperace!

Not terribly comfortable and not a place to go for fine dining. But you will see great comedy here. I really recommend this place if you're visiting the city. Catch a show, you never know what comics you might run into! And many of them hang out afterwards on the stoop outside. Fun night!

Neighbourhood Profile
Greenwich Village
Commonly known as “the Village” to New Yorkers, it was here in Greenwich Village that both 1960’s counter culture and the LGBT movement were born. Famous for its bohemian past, head to Washington Square Park to get a feel for this diverse and energetic neighbourhood. You’ll find NYU students, street performers, skateboarders, kids frolicking in the fountain, and locals relaxing and playing chess. Stroll the streets to discover a mix of majestic town homes and hidden bars and restaurants that give this neighbourhood an old-school residential feel. When the sun goes down, check out one of the famous jazz or comedy clubs that still packs them in every night.
