We discovered this gem of a cinema five years ago when we were staying nearby and it has become our regular venue on the day we catch the evening flight out of NYC and have given up our room. It always seems to be showing the films that are well reviewed but never come to our area and this year... More

Indies and foreign and arty American films, you often have a choice of up to nine. Appeals to the West Side intelligencia who used to go to the Thalia. Not pleasant -- rude staff, small screens, long waits because of limited seating, needs spiffing up. But good finger foods and a nice park upstairs. The shows the thing here.

I was in this theatre many times. Unusual movies. Small theatre . Intimate . Also it's not over air conditioned . Mostly I'm not going to the big Amex theatre what right across from my building becouse after the show I come out like a ice cube. Takes our to warm up. Loncoln Plaza Cinemas do use the cooling just... More

Old theatre with a faded charm, but once tickets bought and popcorn etc purchased went to he film, only to find out from the cleaner that the film wasn't on! So full refund of everything and a comp ticket. Ok but badly organised and seen better days.

This location across the street from Lincoln Center is convenient, safe, and pleasant. If you're early, you can get a sandwich nearby and go into a courtyard where there's a fountain, benches, and chairs. The crowd is local and older. When a few movies are starting at the same time, the ticket taker can be overwhelmed and customers can get... More

I had a very unpleasant experience at these movie theaters over the past weekend. The ticket price isn't cheap ($14,50), but that's not really a problem. The problem is the rudeness of the staff and the incredibly small size of the movie screens. Yes, they show interesting "art" films, but the workers barking orders ("Line up here!" "You can't enter... More

Lincoln Plaza Cinemas shows foreign and other top films for the more mature audiences in a number of smaller theatres. At popular hours, there are always waiting lines for the shows, and the waiting area is not particularly attractive. The small size theatres are comfortable and provide good sight lines. It is definitely good to have showings of films for... More

We've been here several times over the years to see independent films that many movie houses avoid. This time it was 45 Years, which will play in a Toronto rep house eventually but not yet. Last time is was Seymour: An Introduction, which took weeks and weeks to get to the Mount Pleasant. We like the films but wonder it... More

I frequent the Columbus Circle/Lincoln Center area a lot, and end up seeing an Indie movie at Lincoln Plaza Cinemas often also. While the movies are generally good, the establishment itself needs much improvement. Seating is marginal. At the box office, the workers often are not that friendly. They just hand you your tickets. Some exchange, a little thankyou, would... More

Dark and dingy basement, seriously, you can't afford a few 100-watt bulbs in the lobby to lighten things up? Still--have seen some wonderful films there.
