Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.

Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Terrific Park On The Hudson River Greenway! Large bike trail and plenty of places to stop and relax. Highly recommend!

Gorgeous outdoor setting on the Hudson River, some spectacular athletic and cultural facilities that draw a wide range of young and old New Yorkers--currently Pandemic shut down for many indoor activities, but when it ends: huge indoor pool (smaller outdoor has limited hours, timed reservation only), a huge outdoor ice skating rink, music and performance spaces indoors. Big outdoor track, play areas. Well equipped fitness machine rooms that are the biggest bargain in town at $100/6 months. Points off what might have been a "very good " for this venue for the negligent women's locker room which had one or more homeless women camped out in it all day, every day, every day (lawn chairs and all) this spring, with laundry strung over each shower stall so nobody else could use them. Not that anyone was ever in there (guess they gave up--the locker room is pretty run down altogether). But the security level; and interest level of the staff is...odd. The rest of the facility is immaculate.

Riverbank State Park has one of the most beautiful promenades atop the Hudson River and there are picnic tables under the trees overlooking the Hudson. This is an active park with all kinds of activities for all ages at different times of the day and night. It is also a unique engineering feat that incorporates the active park on top of a waste water treatment facilty that does not smell(I have personal experience since I have enjoyed the park at all times and weather for over a dozen years). The sights of the Hudson, Palisades and George Washington Bridge are are magnificent and the facilities of the park are very clean and accessible to all since most are free and others like the swimming pool and skating rink prices are $2.00 for the pool and $5.00 for the rink. There is a good restaurant and the security provided at the park is by the NYS Park Police who are very friendly and professional. It is easily accessible by the # 1 line(red) subway stops at Broadway Ave. 137 and 145 streets. The buses are M11(Sex and the City) and Bx 19(Bronx Zoo and Botanical Gardens) direct to the park while other buses stop in Broadway. i have traveled extensively and this is a unique view and experience.

I have started to go to Riverbank very often in the past months because my personal trainer suggested it for its track field. I really enjoy working out there and the park certainly has a killer view of the Hudson and the GWB. The track field area tends to get pretty busy in the evenings but other than that, it is a lovely park.

People exercise to relieve stress.
Innocent of any wrongdoing:
Beware of NYSPP they have a quota to hand out criminal summons to innocent Blacks and Hispanics. A nightmare after being detained ang going through bags and pockets like criminal with no probable cause, and violating someone's civil rights
I thought the police were to serve and protect
Racial profiling:
Randomly arresting productive members of society and tarnishing someone's record permanently.
Incidents: Female patron at fitness room spits on me and I summoned cops, but instead they chose to arrest me, because I'm a man.
Background jobs working for the state: HR runs illegal background check.
Tight knit community NYSPP/ Fitness room higher ups
Don't go to this park to get bagged by police save your time, money and court costs. If your seeking fun e.g. childhood memories, play basketball, ride the carousel go to coney islands or six flags instead you've been warned!!!

Among the many things to do and see at Denny Farrell Riverbank State Park, The Horticultural Society of New York has a greenhouse and education center within the park. The greenhouse is located on the northern end of the Riverbank Community Garden. The Hort offers a number of free and low-cost programs and events from the greenhouse, including cooking classes, gardening workshops, guided garden tours and much more.

It really is a wonderful park with great views and lots of things to do. However, it sits on top of a sewer treatment plant and sometimes you get a whiff of that smell. It is on the river so you do get a breeze to cut down on any smell.

I didn't visit the park itself but it looked very nice. I went to a restaurant inside the park called Softito and the views of the George Washington Bridge and the Hudson river were stunning . I look forward to going back during the summer having a good meal and hanging on at the park

While at this park noticed people could do so much from tennis and handball, to swimming, running the track, walking by the Hudson River with nice views and play in the gym. Currently, the ice skating rink is closed while they replace the roof. There are even meeting rooms that can be used and it's all built on a Sewage treatment plant in NYC. Oh and they do concerts during the summer in the amphitheater down on the river!
