Neighbourhood: Hell's Kitchen
Just a few strides from the pulsing beat of Times Square, Hell’s Kitchen has a much more local pulse than its buzzing neighbour. The low-key vibe is part of the appeal, but there’s also a new energy arriving in the neighbourhood in the form of modern residential buildings with new retail and food shops. Ninth Avenue is lined with restaurants of all types, from tiny Thai hangouts and Italian trattorias to French bistros and Southern cuisine. Just show up hungry and walk up and down the street, you are bound to find something that looks good. For a more classic taste of the city, grab a bite to eat along Restaurant Row (46th Street between 8th and 9th Avenues) before a Broadway show. The Hudson River provides a break from the city blocks with riverside views, piers for boat tours, and parks perfect for a stroll.

An oasis of cool on a hot New York day. High end (expensive) shops and a nice food venue called Tartinery (see separate review.) We stopped at the Amazon Books place. The is a Whole Foods on the lowest level. The location is good very close to Central Park at Columbus Circle. The biggest downside are the two ugly metal statues of naked fat people in the main lobby; not sure why those are there.

Still an upscale venue but there are more and more lower end retailers showing up. The restaurants on the other hand are terrific. For the first time I saw several vagrants hanging in the lobby. One of them a women was there from 10:30 AM until I returned for dinner at 6:30. This is becoming the norm in NYC.

Stopped in to cool off after visiting Central Park. We discovered the BEST cafe, whose name I sadly have lost. They served the best iced tea, good and dark!! The lunch sandwiches were extremely flavorful and filling. This place will be on my list for a return visit.

The shopping center is nice (overall), shops ok, wholefoods is great to have lunch or to buy something take away.

The very terrible shop is Sephora and not because of the shop itself (it sells almost the same products everywhere) but this one has less things than the other Sephoras in NYC and the shop assistants are the worst! Not helpful at all and super super impolite! If you have a question, they are really annoyed and they make it very clear!

Located on the corner of Central Park, this mini mall had shops to die for, food to cry for and views to sigh for. We stumbled on this by accident looking for a toilet, but came here twice in our weeks stay. Great shops and the Bouchon Bakery was great too.

Shoppers will certainly like this mall. Apart from the many (expensive) shops, you'll also find good quality restaurants in the top floors.

This is an upscale shopping center at Columbus Circle. It's pricey but you can window shop, and they have tons of great places to eat.

In our wandering through the Midtown, one day we got to the southern edge of Central Park, major and prettiest park in New York. It is named after Christopher Columbus and in fact is the traffic circle and intersection of the Eighth Ave.,59th street and Broadway. It is located on the very southwest corner of the Central Park. Surrounding is very impressive with the high rise building of Time Warner Center, then here is as well Trump International Hotel and Tower and in the middle of the Columbus Circle is the very nice statue of Columbus placed on the top of the stone column and this column is again put on the massive postament.
There are a lot of shops where You can purchase really interesting things. as the clothes stores, the wholefoods stores, then the French patisseries and coffee shops. Before we entered in the gorgeous Central Park, we have had some pleasant rest beside the charming fountains.
Really enjoyable sight.

There are not many interesting shops inside occupying the three floors.
A very good sit down restaurant which is full with patrons when I visited there, some prefer the cafes outside for a more relaxing snack and drink.
At level 3, there is an empty area with a sign promising Chang's Momofuku would be opening soon, that might draw in some more discerning crowd. Hopefully, there will be more attractive retail shops or boutique restaurants joining them.
I felt more excitement being outside the shopping center, there are lots of activities, small stalls to browse and other shops around or pop across for a walk in this corner of Central Park.

Dear leeray, thank you for visiting The Shops at Columbus Circle and for your review! Yes! Momofuku Noodle Bar and Bluebird London are 2 new restaurants that will be joining our Restaurant and Bar Collection in September! We are also very excited to welcome Lululemon which will also be opening in the Fall in October. Please stop by our Guest Services desk on your next visit. We would love to share menus, upcoming events and promotions happening in The Shops. We hope to see you soon.

I have always loved roaming through the holiday markets in NYC! Columbus circle is so close to the other attractions that it is always an easy “must”. Aside from the beautiful scarves, soaps, Christmas ornaments, and other cute gifts, they have AMAZING food choices!

I spied a giant S’more this year and had to have it. It was unreal.
