Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Our first ever play and our first time in NY so we didn;t really know what to expect and didn't really research fully what the play was about. We seen the poster, Tyne Daly and decided to buy tickets on the morning of the show.

We were seated at the front centre of the rear mezz on a Saturday night 15th March and had a good view of the stage, i'd say there isn't a bad view.

From start to finish we hardly moved a muscle, the acting of all the cast was really fantastic, the story line kept us hooked from start to finish and the set was superbly laid out.

By far the best night of our seven nights in New York !

I should not have been surprised at the intensity of the dialogue and acting. After all, it's a Terrance McNally script, and it was Tyne Daly and Fred Weller on stage. I was in the second row, so felt like I was there with them, sitting in the living room trying to keep up. McNally has written the sequel to "Andre's Mother", now 20+ years later. It's even more powerful than the original, and Tyne Daly is the perfect person to bring it to life!

Tyne Daly was flawless. Not a move or a gesture or a word that wasn't absolutely part of her character. The rest of the cast was wonderful as well. Painful subject but just when you thought you would break because it was hard they injected humor. It was a perfect balance. the topic is tough but important an the message was very powerful. Would see again.

excellent show. well written and acted. I cannot recommend more highly. Topical for the times and a good lesson for those who do not value all love and all families.
a must see in NYC. Tyne daly and the whole cast are stars.

Tyne Daly was really good as the unexpected guest and mother of a son that died of AIDS. My husband and I saw other couples openly weeping on the sidewalk outside the theater. The set was amazing and all actors, including the young son of the married gay couple, wonder. A must see in NYC.

This play kept me rivited in my seat during the entire 90 minute run. Terrance McNally is a brilliant playwrite and has once again written a very important drama. To see Tyne Daly perform live in person is a priveledge. She is truly one of Broadways divas, and by that I mean a gifted actress who draws you into her character and storyline. The other actors are also magnificent and I will always remember the day I got to see this play.

This play kept your attention & time flew by. You felt like a part of it, so moving. So nicely done and story great. For only 4 people in a play, they were all so good. We loved it!

The set was amazing, and the 4 cast members did an excellent job. This was only my second play ever (first was a school trip with my kids to Beauty and the Beast many years ago) and, although I was a bit unsure on the subject matter, it turned out to be unnecessary. Can't wait for play number 3!

This is a never-to-be-forgotten play. I remember the prequel "Andre's Mother" and this is the sequel. The acting is stupendous, Tyne Daly is superb, as is Bobby Steggert and the rest of the cast! A beautiful, touching, heart felt play....... There was audible sniffing in the audience the day i went, that is how touched we were. Thanks Mr. McNally for such a great life-affirming play.
