Lives up to the legendary status
We were looking for a show everyone in our group with kids aged 10-13 would like. Wicked did the trick and everyone loved it. The staging and singing were incredible. The theater was perfect and the kids got into it even with a rough understanding of The Wizard of Oz. Watch some You Tube videos before you go and you’ll be set

    Thoroughly enjoyable but ABSOLUTELY FREEZING!
We had seen the touring show before, with original cast, but found this really spectacular. The Gershwin theatre was beautiful and added to the experience. We had great tickets a few rows from the front, which we thought were worth the investment. It was absolutely FREEZING COLD though, and we joined many others at the interval requesting the ushers to ease off the air conditioning. They explained that the theatre is deliberately chilled for the comfort of the actors, who are very active in heavy costumes. The ushers explained they sensibly wear several layers of clothing (think Winter fleeces over 3 other layers in July) to cope with the very low temperature. It would be great if the theatre advised guests to do likewise!

Bring a Jacket! You Were Warned
There was a lot of hype about this show, so we were all excited. Performance was incredible, no doubt about that. But it is summer and the ladies of our group wore dresses. We were absolutely miserably cold the whole show. It was FREEZING. I guess I was oblivious to the signs saying no food or drink in the theater, because I carried mine inside from the snack bar. Staff never said a word. I enjoyed the whole thing. Storyline was weird. Costumes magnificent. By the end I was sick of the long songs for Every. Single. Thing., but I am ADD and there is only so much music I can handle without plot advancement.

    A must see, just excellent
12/6/23 7:00 show; Excellent, singing and acting was over the top. The Stage scenery was perfect but should have been after being 20 years on Broadway. Again the singing was the best I have ever experienced. Great Venue, we were second row (B) in the upper mezzanine and still very good seats.

    Wickedly good.
I was really impressed with this show. Even from the second to last row in the mezzanine, it was still awesome. I love how it completely changed the story of the Wizard of Oz and gave it much more depth. The cast was incredible!

What a great experience! It's our second time seeing the show We brought friends with us and it was a great as ever. The cast was different but just as stellar. The theater is located near great restaurants and getting in is very organized. Our friends had seen social media posts about the theater and the show and were so excited to see it. They loved the souvenir cups and got a sweatshirt!

Amazing acting, clear sound in the mezzanine, and so entertaining! Great first Broadway show for my niece and daughter -- easy to understand even if you haven't seen the wizard of oz.

Good points: I liked the 'defying gravity' song and when she is up in the air. The talking head and flying monkeys were interesting. I think anyone who has been bullied at school/work or had nasty rumors made up about them will relate to this so I praise the play for speaking for the underdog and the bullied.

Bad points:
If you go home and google what the play is about it will make it better. Maybe do it before the play starts as I couldn't appreciate it when watching it.
I hated the songs apart from one. They seem to be songs for a much younger audience but its aimed at adults. The characters exagerated things like the annoying line 'Grrrrrlinda' Not for me. The story line attempts to be interesting and I guess it is in the way star wars told us how Anican was before but it isn't as effective. Also there way no mention of the lottery ticket where you can get it for 40 dollars when I bought it.

Absolutely amazing - all age ranges thoroughly enjoyed Wicked. Compared to other theaters, it was easy to get into the Gershwin quickly.

Wicked is a boring show that has no flow and is hard to follow. Watched at the Majestic theater San Antonio and left early. Not a show to spend the money on vs other entertainment.

One of my favorite theater musicals of all time. The story-line and cast are top level performers. “ I couldn’t be happier”.

This was my 10th time seeing this play, twice in NYC. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED. GREAT VOICES

The show is fantastic, but how places like these can charge the extortionate rates for refreshments like they do is a disgrace. We got two alcoholic drinks one wine and one disgusting cocktail (wasn't really a cocktail, thrown together in literally 2 seconds) and it was over 60 dollars. Take your own drinks and refreshments.
