Planning a trip ( backpacking)
Jul 2019 • Friends
So the place has a good variety of sporting equipment most of the prices are pretty decent compared to other outdoor stores. Limited quantity ,but still a nice .....Variety.
The staff was helpful may be a little too helpful the female in the shoe department was flirting very heavily with my brother and my husband. It was quite terrible. She was not dressed appropriately either for sales. She made them feel uncomfortable and they decided not to purchase the boots and the water shoes. I did not realize they felt this way until after they said they wanted to leave. Other than that I would go back ....... maybe do a little price checking.
My brother is a younger guy so it was surprising, but it’s something for the manager to think about at least.

Good sports high end products
Apr 2017
Support your local high end sports store. High end sports and travel clothing. Check out their discount last year models in their back room discount section. Nice people and they like to share experiences. They try to discount on some clothing yet the manufacturers have raised prices on some of the technically improved fibers.

The BEST outfitter for Work and Play in the Hudson Valley
May 2014 • Family
By all means do not miss this exceptional and interesting "work and play" outfitter. They've got the widest selection of outdoor gear and work related clothing for a hundred miles. If you're headed into the Catskills for the weekend, this is the place for those last minute needs in the realm of fishing, boating, hiking, camping. They have a huge selection of the best footwear, socks, knives and axes, hunting gear, boating gear--you name it. and there's always a sale going on. They've also added an indoor archery range and a fly fishing section. They have regional books on hiking and outdoor subjects, too. I bought my Gransfors Bruks Small Forest Axe here a while back when they were generally unavailable elsewhere (due to their great popularity). They also have Wetterlings axes, as well as, Carhart, Filson, ArborWear, Kuhl, and all sorts of interesting outerwear. The great thing about this store is the friendly and knowledgeable staff. And the owner, Bill Kennedy, is one of the coolest people I've ever met.
This store is just off the NYS Thruway, so even if you are just passing through the area, it's an easy stop. They also have an optician on site, in case you need new eyeglasses, a repair or a tune-up.
