It's the street leading up to the library, and you can check out all the bronze plaques on the sidewalk for interesting building information or art type references for the city. Very interesting!

These beautiful plaques are embedded in the public sidewalk, so you will need to plan your visit accordingly: daylight, not rush hour, give yourself 20 - 30 minutes so you can deal with inevitable pedestrian interruptions. The loveliest idea for a sidewalk ever!

These bronze inscriptions in the sidewalk leading up to New York Public Library are fantastic and are a real gem. Sometimes a little hard to read because of pedestrian traffic however a brilliant touch.

Very interesting (as was the canyon of heroes even though my cousin, Gen. William Donovan wasn't on it) but you can't stop to read them or you will get mowed down by the people walking around you.
