Shakespeare time

The price of admission is great for the entertainment if you enjoy Shakespearean plays. Certainly would go again.

Thanks for your review! Our seasons contain both Shakespeare and other types of shows each year. 2017 includes 3 Shakespeare plays: Romeo and Juliet, As You Like It, and A Midsummer Night's Dream; two plays about Shakespeare: Shakespeare In Love and William Shakespeare's Long Lost First Play (abridged); and four other titles: Treasure Island, Guys and Dolls, The Tavern, and... I've attended the Shakespearean Festival since I was young. It's fully of talent and enthusiasm and so much fun.

The Utah Shakespeare Festival has come a very long way since it's humble beginnings. Winning the 2000 Tony award for outstanding regional theatre really put it on the map! The staff(not just actors) have really dialed in the Renaissance feel when you visit with the green show and performances! Highly recommended visit!

We attended "Julius Caesar" in the new Anes Studio Theater and loved it! This production used modern clothing and props, but did not change any of the language of the play. The studio theater was a new experience - very intimate (only seating about 200 people). The acting, directing, staging, lighting and sound were all incredible - absolutely professional and... More

We moved to Cedar City just to make attending the USF easier. There is a wide range of plays available in 3 very different theatres. Be sure to attend the pre-show orientations and the post-show seminars. At the actors' seminar you can interact with a couple of actors. We loved the stories at the Props and Costume seminars. At Repertory... More

Thanks for your review. I am so glad you have found all the events that enrich the experience of attending a play. Backstage Tours and Repertory Magic are ticketed events, as you know, but the rest of the enriching events are free! See you next year. More

This production was, by far, the best Shakespeare production that we have ever seen, anywhere. The acting (which is in the round) was uniformly excellent and emotional. The setting at the new Shakespeare theater is excellent. Cannot recommend this enough.

USF is a very high quality experience in an unexpected place. The facilities are remarkable and the quality of production is very high end. We bring people all the time to experience the community and always include a play at the USF.

I attend the Utah Shakespeare Festival twice every year, seeing half of the plays in the summer and the other half in the fall. This year's season was, I believer, the best over all that I have seen. Not only does this Festival give audiences the opportunity to experience brilliantly acted, directed, and staged Shakespeare, it also provides a musical... More

Some of the finest theatre productions you can find anywhere, yet it is situated in the middle of southern Utah! Over the years we have seen many performances here and never been disappointed. The new theatre complex which just opened this season is breathtakingly beautiful. The theatres themselves are thoughtfully designed with excellent sight lines, acoustics, and consideration for patron... More
