This is the newest museum in the Little Rock area! It is a museum of African American history and is a member of the Department of Arkansas Heritage. It has such awesome stories to tell and I think you should def include it on your list of things to do in Little Rock.

We enjoyed seeing this Arkansas Black history museum. The exhibits ranged from the early 1800s to the present and included famous Arkansans, like Maya Angelou, doctors, comedians, sports figures and politicians. The exterior and interior architecture is beautiful.

the building itself is a splended rebuild of an historic African American center of culture. the building burned several years ago and was completely rebuilt ... looks like the old but with all new systems. I houses a thorough and interesting collection of African American exhibits depicting the story of 9th Street when it was the center of African American... More

We took our 4th graders to this center and to see the way they responded to the exhibits was priceless. We learned a lot and they actually took the time to read and ask questions. We had a diverse group and everyone was interested in what was available to view. We have decided this will be an annual trip from... More

more about Little Rock, Ar. and all that it was and is. Came to the museum while The Kinsey Collection was present. This museum is very well put together and is free to the public. Did not have crowds to battle, but had a steady flow of people. Due to the numerous locations, even with a large crowd the museum... More

One of the best place to find out about 9th Street in Little Rock. It has photos of day gone by in the area. The shop that was there, the clubs, and the doctor. Every thing you want to know about Black History in Little Rock can be found here. A super place for any family. The best part it's... More

We saw a brochure for this museum in our hotel and it sounded interesting so we went. The temporary exhibit was excellent as were the items and design of the permanent exhibit. We highly recommend a visit

While this is out of the immediate downtown area, this place is not to be missed. There is plenty of parking in the back and touring is free...donations accepted. There is a lovely bookstore. The exhibits provide a history and overview of life in the African American Community and in Arkansas. The displays are well-presented and there is much to... More

Went here on a filed trip with 10/11 year olds; I think that most of them could not really appreciate the museum.....I think it was a little over their heads. I am not much of a museum person, so it was not really for me either.

This museum spotlights African American's in Arkansas and the state's history. The Kinsey exhibit that they currently have available is amazing.
