Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

The plaza was known as Plaza de los Lagartos due to live alligators residing at the pond right in the middle of the plaza. Tables available to play chess, maybe you prefer horseshoe or ping pong. It is a popular place to visit. Wedding and sweet sixteen parties have photos taken. It always must visit during the WinterFest celebration every year, starting at the lighting of the tree. Enjoy fine restaurant close by and the night life is nice and safe.

A quaint plaza in the middle of Downtown El Paso. A nice place to go if you want to just walk around, stretch, and maybe some alone time. Saw some sidewalk cafés and restaurants along the square, but not much past that.

In the middle of the plaza, is a beautiful water fountain with an alligator statue. It commemorates when the Plaza had real alligators in the 1960s. The plaza is beautiful and surrounded by the old buildings now being revitalized, some built by Trost. Take your time...go back in time....ride the trolleys brought back to El Paso from the 40's.

Alligators used to live in the pool in the center of the plaza. Now they are molded statues. Nice venue to relax, play some chess, shuffle board, and get a snack or street tacos.

This used to be a great place when it had alligators and before the local incompetent city council started using it as an excuse to spend money. They spent millions redoing this plaza and it wasn't that much better afterwards than before. They spent damn near a million dollars on some type of covering décor that they had to get from Germany. This was just a project to hire more of the local labor. That's the way politicians in El Paso deal with any issue. Incompetence rules the day.

When I was a kid there were actually live alligators here, but people tortured them and they were removed. Then it became a place of crime and despair. But thank you City of El Paso for renovating this downtown place. Much, much better. Security is around and there are benches to sit on. It is clean, peaceful and family oriented. Much better for all.

I was so lucky to be in town when it was during holiday because the decoration was so beautiful! They had a snow village where you get to shop vendors and ice-skating rink for the kids. I will definitely come back here because this town is a hidden gem! This is a perfect get away spot from a big city with your loved ones.

Nice plaza in the center of town. I am sure this would be much better if it hadn't been for COVID. Lots of nice history and unique architecture to look at.

This is the very downtown of El Paso. San Jacinto's Plaza is a small square, a rectangular park surrounded by several historic buildings. There are benches to sit down and relax watching the alligators fountain where once real ones lived.
