The staff inside the welcome center was awesome and so knowledgeable of the surrounding area. The area outside the welcome center would be great for a picnic and a place to stretch your legs.

Along with the coffee, we picked up information on the surrounding area from some very friendly and helpful employees. Information was well organized by Colorado regions and activities.

We had car trouble and the State worker there was so willing to help us out in our time of need. Thank you Mr. Johns for going out of your way to help our family get back on the road.

Operated by State employees, fairly newish. The Vietnam memorial sits close to it. If visiting through the Spring/Summer, there are plenty of picnic tables there, restrooms are good size and clean. Nearby are several restaurants and three chain hotels. Lots of brochures regarding area attractions.

Good info, clean restrooms and a nice lawn with picnic tables make for a pleasant stop while passing through Fruita. There is a lovely little memorial across the street as well. Worth the stop.
