This is an interesting little stop. There is an old fashioned post office, church and school house. There is also a small agricultural museum that has interesting farming equipment. It is also located across the street from the Palmetto Library and Sutton Park. If I had small children, this would make for a nice day out. During the Christmas holidays,... More

We enjoy historical visiting sites around the country and this village was small, but very nice for a short visit. You can wander into various buildings at you own pace to enjoy the history. The buildings are nicely maintained and presented. The site is free (donations) with a lot of work done by volunteers. There are picnic tables for your... More

What a delightful unique place with enthusiastic volunteers. It houses a wonderful collection of historical buildings, carefully and sensitively renovated where needed without loosing any of their character, from the Manatee area. They really should charge and not just ask for a donation. I even came away with a free book donated by Florida Heritage. I will certainly return. Suitable... More

Nice collection of buildings from the turn of the 20th century. We enjoyed touring the various buildings, especially the general store.

Show the kids how things were before internet and smart phones. Its a great way to spend a few hours and its donation recommended. There are several buildings from a turn of the century church and boat shop to a sugar mill and crucible. The old cracker house is great and the Crosley display. The old general store and hotel... The park has many special events each month.I have been to many programs and never been disappointed. Parking can be a little difficult but the medical center next door is good for overflow.

This is an excellent attraction to visit and get to learn something about Florida's history. It's only a small plot but quite a few historic buildings have been relocated there. You start your tour in the Wiggins General Store which has some really interesting exhibits and you can have a go at guessing what they were used for before lifting... More

Learned more about Florida history and the people who changed it. The effect of the railroad and how it contributed to travel, industrial growth and population. Interesting to see how the old south homes were built and what life was like a hundred years ago.

This is a very nice small historical village setup for a hour visit. It has a church, original school house, boat building shop, house and more. It will take about an hour for a quick look and see visit but if you're a historical buff it offers more where you can read the informative placards in each building and area.... More
