Part of Historic Bethlehem Museums & Sites, this beautiful 6.6 acre farm in the city features The homestead of James Burnside, an integral part of the Moravian farming system. Situated in a idyllic park, along the Monocacy Creek, the property contains the 18th and 19th-century farmhouse and summer kitchen, a large garden, two barns, and other outbuildings. We went for the apple and the blueberry festivals. Such a nice old time way to spend the day. Leave your cell phone behind and step back in time! Awesome!!!

The Burnside Plantation is an actual farm that was started many years ago by the Moravian people who moved into Bethlehem. The buildings are original and historical in nature. Th property was once a working farm but now is more of a historical tourist attraction. There are numerous buildings including the farm house, the barn and carriage shed. During the... More

Burnside Plantation speaks to me as if it were a farm rather than a plantation. It consists of roughly 6.5 acres of land with buildings. It features four period buildings of which only one grain building was somewhat accessible . There are two tillable garden areas. There is a placard next to each building to explain the purpose of the... More

Pennsylvania is known for it's history and hidden gems, but there is one place that is small but beautiful hidden among the apple trees and surrounding nature. Burnside Plantation has an amazing story behind it's rustic barns and butterfly gardens. The plantation is spacious and beautiful. The barns are big and solid surrounded by fields of apple trees and topped... More

Stopped by for their Apple Days Festival. Was disappointed by how small the event was given the amount of advertising of it. Probably about 12 vendor tents, and some additional permanent displays spent less than 45 minutes for entire visit.

I lived in the valley for years & never realized that this was here until recently! Who knew that there was a tranquil green space like this in the shadow of one of the area's tallest (although shuttered) buildings. I recently volunteered at 2 festivals held here, and both were well organized & well attended. It seems to be a... More

I enjoyed the gardens most of all. Not everything was open at the time of our visit, so there wasn't much to see, but we had a very nice, shaded walk through and around the grounds.

This is a old farmstead that is in use as the City's stables for their police horses. I can't think of any other place where there is something like this. Really cool!

Good place to take family. Able to tour the plantation and learn about the way they cooked in summer kitchens. Also, Bethlehem police horses and there for you to see and learn about. Lot of yummy baked goods at the blueberry festival.
