Captain Ebey it is said .....was hosting a dinner party one evening, when Natives from Canada decided to enact revenge upon a "white chief" for the murders of 27 of their people, in 1850.... Including several Chiefs. While Ebey had nothing to do with the original fray, revenge was enacted upon him, and he was killed and decapitated. The land... More

We took a postprandial hike on Christmas Day and met many jolly fellow hikers. The awesome views of Admiralty Inlet on the sea side and majestic trees on the land side made one's head swivel. It is a little over a 3.5 mile walk with a few very short but somewhat steep parts and mostly easy footing. The last half... More

Lots of grass, picnic tables and history. There are tons of trails with one spectacular trail that goes along the bluff. Views of the sound are amazing.

Really good to hike, bicycle or drive from place to place. As a National Historic Site, it offers a varied experience including history and culture. Not your regular National site since there is no visitor center and the places to visit are wide spread. This, my third visit, the lighthouse was not open, but it could still be visited. Any... One of the most scenic places on Whidbey island. Views , Sunsets, Hiking and the Beach! Great place for sipping a glass of wine and watching the sun go down. It can be windy at times, bring some layers.

Wonderful hike out on the bluff trail then back via the shoreline. Saw a baby seal on the beach...and several red jellyfish on the sand. Very interesting. Really nice hike.

This is a very small site. But it's right in the heart of downtown Coupeville which is charming. I would not go out of my way unless you are planning on some shopping in the area.

We did a beautiful 2 hours stroll easy walk along the shore. The sunshine must be amazing! We saw lots of bird, a small sea lion. The air is good, good way to get fresh air and nice views of the bay.

Small and hidden away from crowds. Like Fort Casey, but a more personal experience. A great view of the sound and Port Townsend. Bring a kite cause it'll be nice and breezy.

Interesting but more information would be helpful, some boards provided but insufficient for full understanding.
