Amazing day at the dragon boat festival in October ! Grilling, cheering and awesome walk down the path along the Schuykill river. It's a beautiful area with trees all around and river and bridges with nice pathways to walk or run or bike.

Fairmount park is beautiful, but huge... you definetly have to plan for going to this park unless you dont mind roaming around. The zoo, a few picnic areas, baseball park, concert venues, and a couple landmarks are there. Research and plan for a visit.

My apologies these do not get pushed to me. I would not go into the park at night unless I had a group with me and only in certain sections. There are other parks in the area I would use instead.
