This is a must to visit museum if you have a heart for history. Very informational and educational. The Iraq exhibit is great to read through. We were fascinated by the artifacts and the experience from the excavation.

Went there yesterday, not knowing what to expect. Lovely...not very crowded with well-displayed cultural artifacts from so many eras/areas. Not sure if little children would appreciate it, but my teenagers both enjoyed it. Stayed 3 hours.

We booked for the Penn Museum's Simple and Sweet Wedding Package, and it has been a great experience. We wanted to have a ceremony, but nothing too big or expensive. You can book the wedding during business hours Monday- Friday and invite about 30 guests....More

Didn't get time to see it all, but what we saw we really enjoyed - the Etruscan, Roman, Greek and Canaan exhibits. Also took a peek at some of the Egyptian stuff. Very good descriptions and especially interesting was the information about the digs done...More

The Museum of the University of Pennsylvania is one of the great secrets of Philadelphia. In the age when archaeologists brought back whatever they dug up, the museum filled its basements with remarkable anthropological/archaeological specimens. Now on display are collections from ancient Greece, Etrusca, Rome,...More

Clearly one of the best Anthropology Museums in the world. It's Egyptian collection rivals or excides the British Museum in London with the largest Sphinx outside of Egypt. Great for children of all ages.

We first went to the Penn Museum a couple years ago when they had the Silk Road exhibit. We were there during the three weeks when the mummies were part of the exhibit. Fascinating exhibit! Incredible fabrics! Since that time, we have become museum members...More

You are not allowed to use a flash in the museum. To do a photo shoot, you would definitely have to get permission of the museum. The artifacts they have in there are thousands of years old and irreplaceable. I'm sure they... More
