Seeing how our coins are made was fun and educational

We really enjoyed the exhibit showing how our coins are produced and learning how the artists design and make the coins.

It is a self guided tour that is good for children & adults. It's neat to see how they manufacture the coins. There is also some interactive displays.

Especially if you love coin collecting this is a must but it is very interesting for anyone. It has a museum that you can go through and it shows you how it all starts and how the coins are made. You get to see parts of where they are made and it has a nice coin shop to buy different... More

Loved the history and the process of making coins. I have a different appreciation for the minting of coins.

This self guided tour through the mint had interactive displays, great visibility and explanation of the manufacturing floor areas we saw. This was an impromptu tour because it was open earlier than other attractions we thought we would visit that day. We arrived to be screened upon entry, this is a Federal building/business. The guards were very nice and respectful.... More

I have coins from each of the 8-U.S. mints. Well it's back to our 50-State Quest again. This one being #35 Pennsylvania. Now I did tell you that once in awhile we did hit the same state twice when in different vacations they crossed paths. This is one of those times just because you had to cover the east &... More

I had the opportunity to view this facility during my son's school field trip and it was full of lots of information about how money is made. Great place to take kids for a history lesson while walking around Independence Mall.

Then, you will love it. Surely, the place has some information to offer about the US coinage's past and present. It has several halls with artifacts. And then, there is a loooong hall where you can watch how coins are made with several dusty and outdated and not very attractive machinery. If you not much into watching machinery, skip that... My kids and I stopped by for a US Mint tour on a whim, had to come back a few hours later to get in, but it was worth it! A great factory-type tour with interesting, interactive exhibits along the walls above the US Mint, the tour allows you to look through huge windows onto the floor where coins are... More

We love this often overlooked attraction. It's in such a great location, most tourists (and natives) pass it, sometimes several times on the same day. My kids (2 boys) have loved popping in here to watch coins being made since they were little. It doesn't take much time, so it's easy to add to most packed itineraries. Definitely check it... More
