Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

I walked this area when I went to a Penn sporting event. The campus architecture and landscaping is nice. The area is safe during the day, and there is a lot of history from archaeology (Penn Museum) to sports (Palestra, Franklin Field). The area is an easy SEPTA train stop from the airport.

In my next life I plan to go to the University of Pennsylvania, a beautiful campus at the western edge of a sophisticated historic city, overflowing with world-class art & music. The campus, which artfully blends 19th century architecture, such as the magnificent Furness Library, with striking modern buildings, is dotted with provocative sculpture & throbs with the energy of attractive students. Serious bookstores, museums (Don't miss the edgy Institute of Contemporary Art.) & quality restaurants nearby on Sansom Street enhance the vibrant ambience.

I graduated Penn in 1966 and only returned once, for a very short visit, in 1991. This time I spent a few days on campus. The grounds are beautiful and I wondered at the garden like atmosphere of the campus and the quality of the architecture of the buildings built in the last half century. The students came from all walks of life and seemed open to take advantage of the opportunities made available by this great University. It was an uplifiting experience.

Upenn has a wonderful campus with great buildings and wonderful restaurants. The Palestra is a wonderful building to watch a basketball game.

For a major institution, there is an amazing lack of visual arts. The head of the Art program is very poor in her knowledge of Art History. I was totally amazed by her tour with lack of insight and knowledge. A change in leadership is deemed necessary for the entire program.

In spite of being in the middle of a city the campus of the University of Pennsylvania is distinctive, elegant and welcoming. Walking through it you could imagine seeing its founder, Benjamin Franklin, welcoming you to this great educational institution. We recently attended a reception at Houston Hall and got very impressed by the warm reception by the attentive staff that managed the event. The campus feels and looks great so much so that we wish we were there to register as students rather than being just visitors walking through memory lane.

Walking the campus of U Penn is another feast for the eyes. The architecture is in keeping with one of the oldest schools of higher learning in the country. Of course there are new buildings as well but the overall feel of the campus is nostalgic. Also visit the U Penn bookstore to get a huge assortment of U Penn souvenirs. Worth the walk from where you are staying.

I feel smarter just stepping foot on this Ivy league school. Ben Franklin quotes on large stones to inspire me and my teens. Gorgeous buildings with tree-lined streets. Spend a couple of hours visiting and you wont be disappointed and get your picture with Ben!

Luckily I found a parking space right in fromt of the physician's office at Penn on Market Street. Despite a poorly functioning ticket machine in which I purchased the same ticket twice, I finally achieved my parking permit. On returning to my car I found that I was 2 minutes late (no hurry for the appointment scheduling at Penn's Franklin Field operation).
I watched as the cycling cop smiled as he peddled away from the car. $76.00 plus processing fee is my reward for taking my Penn Undergraduate daughter there. I knew she should have gone to Princeton!

Taking a self-guided tour of Penn's campus at the end of February and needing advice for a good place to stay that is close to the University. Thanks in advance!

I want to have a look at ENIAC, the first computer in the world. It display at Moore School Building of the school of engineering and applied science. But what is the opening hours? Do I need an admission, or it open to public?

Place to park? We are coming from Independence Hall. Also, map of the campus on-line? Specifically interested in the LOVE sculpture, Benjamin Franklin sitting on the bench and location of The White Dog Cafe. Thank you!

Many parking lots in the area. Some spots on the street. You pay for parking at a kiosk if you park on the street. Personally, I do a parking lot as fines in Philly are expensive and street parking is not free well into the night.
