Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

I love all US history, cherish it and wanted to see where my favorite guy worked and wrote the Golden Words. I felt very happy to finally approach it and feel the spirit of the place, however, there are piles of garbage on the side and all over both yards. And the back yard smells like urine. I hope Philadelphia gets it right one day and clean it up, as it’s a complete disrespect to those who built our country. I already contacted the Philadelphia’s Government about it. So giving 4 stars just for Thomas Jefferson and his efforts.

Shame it wasn't open to see inside. It was cool to walk by and see the outside reconstruction but I had hoped to go inside.

We unintentionally visited this house while walking from our hotel to the Liberty Bell. It was a pleasant unexpected surprise.

I wen to Puerto Vallarta in Mexico. I did not know anything about any declaration of goods form. When I got there, just about everyone was given one. I filled it in. It asked very straight forward questions.

Just to add. Puerto Vallarta was wonderful. I wasn't there long but I am going to go back for a holiday. Mexico really impressed me. People were friendly and helpful. I wandered around day and night with no problems.

This is the house where Jefferson wrote and re-wrote the Declaration with the help of Franklin and Adams. Very informative tour by the ranger. One thing to be aware of...after Labor day, the house is only open on certain days. Call ahead of time, we had to return the day after our first attempt.

The Declaration House where Thomas Jefferson drafted the declaration of independence has many very interesting artifacts and pictures to look at and read including drafts of the Declaration of Independence. The living space of the house is decorated in period correct furnishings and such. Very interesting for any history buffs.

I stood in awe looking at the rooms where Thomas Jefferson wrote the Declaration of Independence. I also enjoyed the five minute introductory video. If you like to see where famous people lived and did important things, you will like this house and should visit it. If you don't care about this sort of thing, there are MANY other places to visit in Philadelphia. It's under the auspices of the Parks Department, so it is free.

The Graff House is a small museum that is 1 block from independence Mall. The building is a rebuild of the house that existed at that time of the writing of the Declaration. The second floor has two rooms with period furniture which is a re-creation of the rooms Jefferson rented and wrote the Declaration of Independence in. It IS worth the 1 block walk and will not take long to visit. Plus there is a great chocolate shop a few doors down too!

Like the old joke, there just isn't much there there. It is in the area of the mall, the Reading Terminal, Betsy Ross, Franklin, etc. (within a radius of a mile at most) so you will be walking past it anyway. It's free and will only take 20 minutes. It is a re-creation, so don't expect original. You hear about Jefferson writing at so many of the other sites that it seems only natural that this would be included, but then seeing it is a little like not giving credit to all the others who wrote the document, a bit unfair. Free.
