This is a very old graveyard so the weather has taken it's tole on the stones. It is free to see from the sidewalk and easy to walk to, so worth a stop. A list of his accomplishments is on a plaque next to the grave. It really makes you think about what he did for the country.

On the corner of Arch & 5th is the Christ Church Burial Grounds which contains Benjamin Franklins grave. I was there in winter when it had been snowing, so all you could see was the marks left by the pennies that people throw on his grave site. This is a Philadelphia tradition. It is a fairly ordinary slab for such... More

Was expecting something a little more elaborate instead of a simple slab. The elements are taking a toll on the marker and who knows how long before it becomes unreadable? Anyways its free to visit and only takes a couple minutes, very close to the mint as well as the Liberty Bell. One of those, well we are here, may... More

If you're a history buff and visit Philly, it's a quick, free attraction you have to see to say you did it.

Ben Franklins grave is in a grave yard and it's good to pay respect to this great man. The grave is next door to the Philadelphia Mint easy to walk to from Independence visitors center.

This place is very close to US Mint and we crossed it and spent time in reading the signboards, which speak of history of America's top makers.

I see a lot of reviews saying you can stand on the street, and snap a picture through the gate, which is true, if that's all you want. I am not a Ben Franklin enthusiast, but it was worth it to me, to pay the couple bucks they ask to help restore the cemetary, to go in for a better... More

I have seen this several times. The ironic thing is people toss money on his grave. Ben used to say" A penny saved is a penny earned" The good news is the cemetery is using g the money to restore the grave.

Part of the American history. Worth passing by for that reason. You can take a picture from outside the gate and to the next independence attraction.
