I love Macy's when we are in the States. This is a small one in comparison to others I have been to, but has a good selection of clothes and handbags (my main love). It's centrally located and easy to find. They also had a great sale on (no surprise).

Really enjoyed browsing through the store, bought a couple of bits and pieces, extremely helpful and friendly staff, then a wonderful treat of hearing the Wanamaker organ being played, a good 45 minutes worth of varied music, very inspiring and even got to go and have a proper look at the organ console with the organist after he had finished... Macy's in the Philadelphia are do not tend to be the finest stores, but this one is worth a visit when in the city. Formerly Wanamakers store, it's a building from a bygone era. You feel special walking into this building, with it's grand open space, the eagle statue and one of the finest working pipe organs in the world.... More

We were really amazed at what is here at Christmas time. We walked here from Reading Terminal Market, so it pairs well with a visit there. There are three things to see at Christmastime. First is the traditionally expected windows outside of Macy's. 2nd, there are timed lights shows. The light show covers the huge 3-story wall. The show itself... More

Macy's is located in the John Wanamaker building which is one of the world's grand department stores. A Philadelphian will still refer to Macy's as 'Wanamaker's' to separate it from other Macy's in the area. The store used to be the full building but has been shortened to 3 stories with the rest being offices. The store has the largest... More

We've visited Macys before, cause your in the city and its what you do. They had a light show for the kids, so we stuck around. It was cute, just not for me. Perhaps if I was 7 it would of been awesome. What was nice was Santa was there for the kids and they all received a nice ornament.... More

I came down for the lightshow that the store has done during the holidays since it was a Wanamaker store. The light show is so much fun and they have not changed it in years. I love Julia Andrews when she bids Frosty the Snowman goodbye. It is a really clever show. The company has done a nice job renovating... More

Good light show for kids and adults. Place can get crowded but still was worth seeing if you are in the area. Not sure how often they do show but if ground floor gets to crowded I did see people on the other levels watching it. Worth getting out of the cold and watching.

Travelled to Philly today for the show and there was NO organ playing! Light show was nice, but no organ.

We stopped in for the holiday show, which they hold every other hour during the day. It was a fun show - and packed full of people! We got to hear the old organ play during the last song and wow does that fill up the hall!
