Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

TripAdvisor indicates the Korea War Memorial is at 1609 Snyder Avenue. I visited another two blocks south of Market Street, near the 2nd Street Metro station. I stayed at Hilton Penn’s Landing (highly recommended), coincidentally, the week of Memorial Day. The concierge informed me of this memorial, and the adjacent Vietnam Veterans Memorial, both a block for the Hilton. The accompanying photos don’t capture the beauty of this memorial. Etched into stone are images, names, and dates that include the year of my birth—1952.
Watching MASH episodes on TV decades ago, I had an image of Hawkeye and Trapper John. This Memorial was a wakeup call. There were real people fighting a war that no one wanted. That mistake was repeated just over a decade later. Politicians never learn. During your Philly visit, take time to memorialize those valiant soldiers, and especially those who did not return from the Korean peninsula. More info about this and other Korea memorials is at www.kwva.org. The website TripAdvisor links to is not correct.

Among bustling city of Philadelphia- a nice place to reflect/ unwind.- dotted with flowers and historic black and white photos you have a chance to see history up close. Benches are nearby- and waterfront is a 2 minute walk. The bridge over to New Jersey lights up every hour at night.- Boats are of every size and a walkway is there for a 30 minute run- or a leisurely walk. Hyatt Penns Landing hotel has an outdoor terrace over water- and nearby is a beautiful new small park.

This memorial is very close to the Vietnam war memorial. As part of your visit to Penn's Landing, include it as part of the stroll, The walk was featured in our guide book, and very well done.
After the visit, we went to the Irish Memorial, then turned in a few blocks to find many eateries, pubs, and taverns for a great lunch stop. Short visit, but worth the time since you are already in this area,

No matter where you come from, a veteran or just a protected citizen. This is a wonderful tribute to the hero's from the Korean war. Tall pillar structures make this quit a display, The location is lovely! Park benches with shade trees and gardens everywhere. Parking seems easy in that area. The river front is only a stones throw away, make a day of it!

I need to buy a book about this conflict. I didn't know that the battle lines moved so much over the peninsula. Nor that the US lost so many troops. Moving tribute to those who served. Good explainers available. Well worth a visit.

The Korean War Memorial in Society Hill is very moving i think, I recommend visiting it if you’re in the area. This is a war most folks forget about.
It is in the Penn Landing's area and just walking around,It is beautiful and they did a great job honoring those who served in this war.

Visited for a few minutes during the cold spell. Interesting and well done and close to the Viet Nam, Irish and Scotch memorials.
Maybe it makes more sense to build fewer and smaller memorials and spend the dollars on supporting the Korean Vets who need shelter, clothing and healthcare.
Maybe it's easier and cleaner for most people to build memorials and not to have to actually be in contact with those of us who are vets.

Went to Philly, Aug. 2016. All I can say is that Philly knows how to do monuments and memorials. You may think you were in D.C.
