Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

This is a beautiful park. The fountain is large and you can get in, swim, sit or just wet your toes. There are benches, large grassy areas, mature trees and beautiful flowers. The beauty of it will make you want to just stop, sit and enjoy the view.

We came to Philadelphia to see the famous Museum of Art and the Rodin Museum. But the greatest work of Art in the city, we found by chance, is this set of gorgeous fountain sculptures: double life size. They were the work of Alexander Calder II, father of the more famous Alexander Calder III who invented mobile sculptures. Alexander Calder I was also an important sculptor in the Philadelphia area.

It is a great place to hang out. It feels especially rewarding to sit down and rest here as a part of one of the most fascinating Philadelphia walks from the Museum of Art to the City Hall. The fountain itself is very interesting. It was designed by Calder for Philadelphia Fountain Society. It allegorically features three Native Americans portraying three locally important rivers the Delaware, the Schuylkill, and the Wissahickon. The young girl represents the Wissahickon creek, mature woman the Schuylkill and the man symbolizes the Delaware river. There are swan sculptures in the fountain but it really memorializes Dr. Wilson Cary Swann who was the founder of the Philadelphia Fountain Society. During the summer the fountain is the favorite swimming place for many local kids and young at heart .

Unfortunately on a cold terribly windy day that I happened to drop by Philadelphia, this fountain's water wasn't on at all. It is still huge and beautiful, of course. Make sure you plan your visit around a time when they turn the water on!

The design of the fountain is awesome. In summer when it's sunny and very hot weather you will find yourself on this cold spot. You should smell the fresh air and enjoy water droplets. It's fantastic feeling.

Nice fountain to decorate the Ben Franklin Parkway, but not much to see here. Have a seat for a short break but move along. Be careful crossing the street as there is lots of traffic.

TIP: You can park behind the library to the North as there is not much parking to the South.

Lovely fountain in Logan square. Nice to sit although it is in a roundabout so not exactly peaceful. But the highlight for me was the frogs spitting water. Oh and the tortoise. Not seen that before despite many fountain visits. Well done the sculptor. Top choice ! My kids would have loved it.

This Fountain is very beautiful. Located in Logan Circle it draws you too it. The sound and the spray of water is refreshing on a hot day. The statues are beautiful and the surrounding area is just made for a walking tourist.

Swann fountain is situated in the Logan Square park in center of the city. You can see the Museum of art and city hall when looking the opposite direction.
