We actually did the Franklin Footsteps Tour as the last tour of our four days in Philadelphia. It was a good summary of all the history we saw in the city and Bill, our tour guide, was well versed in that history as a 15 year veteran of the Franklin Tour.

The tour itself was fine. The issue for us was in the actual customer service. We purchased tickets for an 11 am tour start time. We arrived shortly before 11 and were told the bus was full. I inquired about why this happened if we had a reservation and the gentleman at the podium said he did not know and didn’t why they over book the times. We were told we had to wait for the 11:30 tour. We then walked down to the other bus company on the street. We found these two company’’s worked together and that there were only 17 people on the bus we were told was full for 11 am. We not only rushed to make our 11 am tour but we also lost 30 minutes of the tour time that we planned on. This was very disappointing.

Hello, We are sorry for the inconvenience you experienced. We do our best to adhere to our schedule, but there are often deviations due to the nature of operating in a large city. This particular day, there was construction on Chestnut Street which interfered with our route and schedule. This may have caused some confusion with our staff and contributed to the issues you experienced. Again, our apologies for the delay, but I hope that you enjoyed the rest of your day on the tour. Sincerely, Kieran Big Bus Philadelphia

Booked this tour after exiting our visit to the Liberty Bell. We asked for the hour carriage ride since it was a really lovely day and it would allow us the opportunity to see a number of the historic landmarks without hopping on and off a bus. The charge was $150 for the hour. The guide had a lot of commentary during the tour, but it was really difficult to hear what was being said because of the traffic and the fact that he had a face mask on. After a while a gave up trying to listen for most of it and chose just to enjoy the ride. The hour tour turned out to be only 45 minutes, which I thought was a little cheesy. Not sure if this is always the case. Thought that the operator could have been a little friendlier. It would have improved the experience tremendously.

The driver was very friendly and knowledgeable. He wore a mask and i never once felt like my health was compromised. The horse (Brutis) had water stations during the ride and was treated the way a owner spoils his dog. I would definitely do it again!
