This monument was dedicated much after the end of the Civil War. It is made of stone and has on top General Lee on his horse Traveller and on the bottom a group of soldiers representing Cavalry, Infantry and Artillery divisions.

We stopped here while on a tour with History Nerds Tours and the memorial is beautiful. It gives a great perspective of where Gen. Lee was commanding his troops from.

This Memorial is stunning. Easy to park near it on a one-way street. Hundreds of memorials and monuments here in the cemetery, but this is one you have to see.

So may Virginians fought and died at Gettysburg. The memorial and tribute to them is quite lovely. I find it so important that we remember our history and honor it. This memorial certainly does this.

The Virginia Memorial in the Gettysburg Battlefield is breathtaking. Of course, I'm a Virginian so I'm partial. But I think it's a beautiful work of art, like so many of the memorials are. It's a good place to start the trek across the battlefield to...More

This is an absolute must see when visiting Gettysburg. Centrally located and easy to find owing to its size. Very clean and well kept.
