The Battle of Gettysburg was a turning point in the Civil War, the Union victory that ended General Robert E. Lee's second and most ambitious invasion of the North. Often referred to as the "High Water Mark of the Rebellion", Gettysburg was the Civil War's bloodiest battle and was also the inspiration for President Abraham Lincoln's immortal "Gettysburg Address".

The Welcome Center is amazing. Make sure to see the Panoramic Portrait. We purchased the self-guided auto tour CDs, and loved every minute of the trip. It took over four hours to view the whole park but was worth every minute.

My unit did a staff ride here. We all did presentations and hired a guide, Jim, to elaborate. Jim is extremely passionate and knowledgeable about history. He showed us around everywhere and it was about a 7 hour tour. Tours begin and end at the museum/ shop. The battlefield isn't very handicap accessible in some places, but still well worth... More

What a fantastic experience! Gettysburg National Military Park is incredible. The Visitor Center must be your first stop. Don't miss the film which gives an overview of the battle plus a bit of the events which lead up to those momentous 3 days in July. Then experience the Cyclorama, a truly exceptional 360 degree painting that comes to life. The... More

Viator booked Grayline for a full day from 7:30am-6pm. Excellent driver who started the day with enthusiasm and gracefully drove this big bus through all the traffic. Great 1st stop at the Shriver house to give you a feel about the sacrifices of the people of Gettysberg and the soldiers in the attic. You have to go there to appreciate... More

We booked a licensed battlefield guide about two months in advance. He drove our car and told us about the battle, how it played out. He had amazing knowledge, and really made the trip for us.
