Wear serviceable shoes if you want to hike on these lava fields! There are all the different types of lava, and voids left by collapsing bubbles long ago. FIERCE!!!! Loved this place.

Condition of trails and picnic areas indicates this area is not used extensively. There are several trails on the eastern section that provide good exercise. There are great views from the car!

Approaching the bluffs from the parking area, please be careful as they can be slippery. And what a view of the lava fields and surrounds! Spectacular!
