If you have any interest in Eleanor Roosevelt, this is a mecca in the Hudson Valley only 90 minutes north of New York City. A beautiful spot in the Hudson Valley with seasonal gardens -- the lilacs in bloom! -- and a number of hiking...More

Learn who Eleanor Roosevelt really was and how she lived her life. Very cozy, understated residence … for when she wasn't traveling the world.

The Val-Kill Cottage is perhaps two miles or so from the larger and much more famous FDR estate. Val-Kill was Eleanor's private space, charming in its own way, and filled with historical details of the life of this remarkable woman. Not to be overlooked, and...More

The Ranger does an awesome guide of Eleanor Roosevelt’s home. The history of her life and furnishing are phenomenal. Most of the furnishings are original. Don’t miss this if you are in the Hyde park area.

On our last visit to Hyde Park, we toured Springwood estate which we enjoyed. This time around we came here, expecting a more modest venue. It is quite a lovely spot: very restful in stark contrast to her active life. We watched the introductory movie...More
