My sister and I took the 3 hour tour today, with Captain Bruce at the helm. There was a party of 6, including us, for the tour.. We had the absolute best time.. Captain Bruce was super interesting and fun, and filled us in on...More
Another of those great venues to share with friends and family when they visit the area.
I highly recommend this tour to anyone interested in being on the water for a couple of hours and seeing Astoria and the surrounding area from the Columbia River....More
This was our second experience aboard the Christina Cousteau. We brought food and drinks and enjoyed all of it up on the fly bridge while taking in the beautiful scenery. The sea lions were back this time. What a hoot! We saw the same pair...More
What a disappointment!
We were so looking forward to this trip, especially after reading all the great reviews. However, Captain Bruce is not Captain Chris. He is knowledgeable about the area, his own qualifications, his girlfriend and photo of her, and talking forward into the...More

It's always interesting for me, as the owner of Columbia River Eco Tours for the past 10 years and over 4,500 passengers, to analyse a negative review...
The negative reviews have one thing that is very consistent - they never tell you 'the rest of...More
We had a wonderful morning ride with Captain Bruce! He is extremely knowledgeable about the area, the river and boating. We learned so much from him, and already miss being in Oregon! This is a great experience and well worth the price!
Captain Chris took a small group of us up the Columbia River from Astoria Oregon in his yacht. He was knowledgeable, affable and even gave a remote local a lift back to Astoria docks to get his sailboat. He, too was interesting and knowledgeable since...More
We went out in the morning and were joined by a family of 4. Chris says he is limited to 6, so we were lucky. He narrates the trip, pointing out points of interest. Do book early in your stay in Astoria and things can...More
My wife and I got to experience this tour, and really enjoyed it.
Captain Chris is a great storyteller, he showed us some really beautiful views of the Columbia, and we got some closeup views (e.g., big ships, the Eagle habitat, etc).
Great for networking,...More
Just got off the boat with our group of six which included my parents, husband and two children. We had a fabulous time and enjoyed seeing bald eagles while learning about the history and geography of the area from Captain Chris. Booking with Chris was...More
Long story short (though there is plenty of material). My mother and I live in separate states and our vacation to Astoria was short and going to be very spendy but very sweet.
Enter Captain Christopher Loyd. From the beginning, he lied to us (we...More

I had knee surgery a few months before my trip to Astoria, and this boat ride was one of my most anticipated days. I almost cancelled when I saw the stairs, as you need to sit up on the top deck for the ride. However, I just made it up, and I can honestly say they are very steep, and it wasn't easy. With MS, you will find it probably impossible to get up the 'stairs' as they are just rungs and they are straight up, not like a normal staircase. I would check other companies to see if they have boats where you can sit on the main deck instead.
