We have taken the West Coast re-positioning cruise several times. All included the inevitable stop in Astoria. It’s a lovely town but not too much to do- not really a place to bring 3.000 people. In past we’ve enjoyed the waterfront walk and fish & chips at one of the lovely brewpubs. This time however, I was determined to find... More

We loved our trip with Captain Chris, even though it was raining a little it was the highlight of our trip and cruise! My daughter FELL IN LOVE with the Sea Lions and he got her "up close and personal" with them and two weeks later she is still talking about the trip. Highly recommend it!

What a great tour! Captain Chris so personable and knowledgeable. Had a great time experiencing the beautiful Oregon coastline and learning about the workings of an active port. Fascinating information & history, very easy going. Love having that small group, only 6 passenger, experience. Very accommodating when our ship arrived late into port and we missed our original time. Kept... More

Travel the mighty Columbia River and see Ocean freighters up close. Experience the power of the tides, currents and wind. Bring a binoculars and camera to spot and record sea lions, eagles and other wildlife. Capable captain and comfortable large boat.

We loved our three hour boat ride on the Columbia River and a neighboring tributary. The morning water was calm and we saw seals, osprey, bald eagles and other birds. Captain Chris knew lots about nature and history and answered all our questions abut the area.

Captain Chris was really nice, relaxed, friendly, funny and answered all of our questions. He was so easy-going that it was like being out on the boat with your friends. We learned so many interesting things about where the Columbia River meets the Pacific Ocean!!! During high tide the Pacific Ocean actually reverses the Columbia River & tributaries for 80... More

My husband and I spent the 4th of July weekend in Astoria and I booked us for this tour for the afternoon we got into town on July 3. We had some excitement as we underestimated how bad the traffic would be going up the coast in certain areas and got checked into our hotel at the Pier Cannery and... More

Just returned from a 3+ hour tour with Chris. Wow...what a wonderful experience! Learned so much about the history of Astoria and the Columbia River. Saw osprey, eagles, herons on a warm and sunny day. Chris is a wonderful host and very knowledgeable. Made me feel right at home on his vessel. Have to rate this experience one of my... More

Astoria was a stop on our cruise-we didn't have much time and wanted to do something a little different. We couldn't have found a more enjoyable way to spend a morning! First-this is a great activity for people taking a cruise into the area-the marina where Captain Chris keeps his boat is just across the street from where the cruise... More

It was a great tour with lots of beautiful scenery. Captain Chris was very knowledgable about the area. We saw the seals and some bald eagles and their nest and an osprey and their nest. Take your binoculars! It was a little hazy when we started but cleared off. Dress in layers as you are outside on the top of... More
