We went back and forth many times over the weekend between Astoria and Long Beach. Beautiful views for the passengers in the car. Lots of dead birds all over the bridge. Weird.

Honestly I went over this longest bridge in the U.S. by mistake, but once I started there is no way to bail out. When I reached Washington, I turned around and travelled back to Astoria. Talk about a view.

Ok it is a bridge, but what a bridge. It goes three miles across the Columbia river then roars up into a huge gantry bridge. It turns your car into a roller coaster.

We crossed the bridge in April with no problem. No construction. No toll. When the bridge was paid for the toll was removed. Yes, you can get to the Long Beach Peninsula easily crossing the bridge. While there check out... More
