The restored hotel building sits on the bank of the Tennessee River. It has been faithfully restored, at least on the lower level, with about half the level dedicated to a museum and interpretive centre. A large, glass viewing wall allows one to see inside...More

As I was walking up to this old building, I was struck at how beautiful the setting was next to the river. The video really showed why the hotel was preserved for history. I was awe struck to think that I was sitting in the...More

Dover Hotel was a typical small-town 18th century hotel, with bar/restaurant. The Confederate forces surrendered here to General Grant in 1862. The restored hotel has some exhibits and you can view the bar-eating area. Part of the NPS site.

The Dover Hotel still stands today. It is where general Buckner surrendered his troops to general Ulyeses S Grant during the civil war allowing the north to have access to the south thru Nashville.

Love to stop by the old Dover Hotel located on the banks of the Cumberland, it is still easy to visualize the steam boats coming to the landing. In Downtown Dover -- a very small metropolis
