This one-of-a-kind museum located in Federal HIll (baltimore) provides a fascinating experience in non typical art. Great gift shop and a restaurant onsite. Be sure to notice the exterior art as well -- beautiful mosaic glass pieces and the mirror tree.

Funky, flashy and a little offbeat, this place is great! Not as interesting for younger kids, but the creativity exhibited in the art is rather wonderful.

As a former cultural attaché who went to 2-3 art openings a week in high season, I can be jaded about art offerings that get reviews from critics, Often a painting or a sculpture is just that with no hidden meaning except what you see. Critics always look for meaning. Well, this museum is simply wonderful with art that is... More

What a marvelous surprise this turned out to be. Visually, every exhibit proved more interesting than the previous one. The visionary artists who created these insightful presentations superbly demonstrated their inner talents. And because so much is sculpture, the tactile senses were not ignored. A fun way to enjoy creative expression. And it's close to the Inner Harbor as well!

This art museum specializes in non-traditional folk-type art. Many pieces are done by untrained artists so there is a strong naivete among the pieces. Expect to be charmed as well as "what the?" which of course can also be charming.

I am one of them, but this was one of the most different museums that I have ever visited.Laughed many times, brilliantly, learned things that I had no thought about anywhere and saw work from artist with other view. One of the places to go when visiting the Baltimore.

After seeing every museum in DC we were bored but took a chance with the visual museum and loved it. There was so much to see and do. Seriously one of my favorite places I went to. Art made of tooth picks, stairs that have peepholes, and another building with a Divine statue. My teenage son loved it too and... More

This is one of my favorite museums in the world. This means a lot since I've visited 90 countries and 49 states where I structure my trips around art museums. I've also visited le Musee de l'art brut in Lausanne, Switzerland, the model for this museum. This was my fourth visit in as many trips. The museum is refreshing because... More
