My grandmother is a graduate of the Peabody School of Music and we recently took a tour of the library. The place is gorgeous!

This is an old library that is now part of the Hopkins' University music school. There is an auditorium where they perform jazz concerts. Worth a stop if you're in the neighborhood to check out the history.

You cannot tell how beautiful the interior of the library is from the outside. Go inside and be amazed as you are surrounded by thousands of books in a spacious 5-story room with detailed ornamentation and lighting that draws your eyes upwards. If you love libraries or books, this is your place. Unfortunately, the upper levels are not open to... More

This beautiful building holds over 300,000 books belonging to George Peabody. None can be taken out however. Exhibitions are held in a downstairs gallery that are worthwhile.

.....there were spectacular buildings built and awe-inspiring spaces created to house, safe-guard, respect and honor the written word. This is one of those spaces. You can come, spend a few minutes, and be thrilled. Or, if researching, spend a lifetime.

As a librarian I just had to visit the Peabody Library and I was not disappointed. We were so lucky to be there during the Edgar Allan Poe Exhibit. It was terrific and the library is beautiful.

When we went into this building, we couldn't stop looking up at the ceiling. We stood in amazement at the beauty of the place.

The majesty of this place is breath taken. Walking in you feel transported to olden times. Your only allowed into part of the whole building and even that you can only go on the first floor of four. It took me about half and hour to walk the whole thing. Staff purposefully try and avoid you. Not a plan all... More

The Peabody had been on my bucket list for a long time and when I walked in, I actually burst into tears at the sheer beauty of it! If you are a book lover, PLEASE don't miss this stop in Baltimore. Be sure to check the hours as they are closed on the weekends and Mondays. You are restricted to... More
