The Peabody Library is part of the Peabody Music Institute. The Library has a big room showing the stacks of books and overlooking other Institute buildings. There is a historical museum part with a useful Edgar Allan Poe collection. The Library is in Mt. Vernon near the Walters Museum and a very good walking area.

It looks like the numerous photo you have probably come across and there is not much else to see. There was a room with exhibits that seem to change as well. currently a display on EA Poe. the library has limited opening hours for purposes of touristic visits. A visit here will be short though.

You have seen the photos, so you already know why you need to go. The building is stunning, the staff is so lovely, and the collections on the first floor are really interesting to browse. Also, card catalogs. You guys. It is so nice to see these in action! If you happen to go in the next few weeks check... More

This is an old library that is now part of the Hopkins' University music school. There is an auditorium where they perform jazz concerts. Worth a stop if you're in the neighborhood to check out the history.

You cannot tell how beautiful the interior of the library is from the outside. Go inside and be amazed as you are surrounded by thousands of books in a spacious 5-story room with detailed ornamentation and lighting that draws your eyes upwards. If you love libraries or books, this is your place. Unfortunately, the upper levels are not open to... More

This beautiful building holds over 300,000 books belonging to George Peabody. None can be taken out however. Exhibitions are held in a downstairs gallery that are worthwhile.

.....there were spectacular buildings built and awe-inspiring spaces created to house, safe-guard, respect and honor the written word. This is one of those spaces. You can come, spend a few minutes, and be thrilled. Or, if researching, spend a lifetime.
