The great movie palace of Washington DC, where they used to have first run movies plus a stage show (Loew's Capitol), was reduced to powdered dust 40 years ago. Not so in Baltimore. Their great theatre is/was the Hippodrome, fully operating in 2016. Just a beautiful, wonderful place for a show, we drive to Baltimore just for the Hippodrome. One... More

My wife and I caught a performance of Jersey Boys. The theater itself is beautiful. I love the restoration done on the ceilings. We were seated in the Upper Balcony, but still had a great view of the stage. My only real problem is the lack of leg room (and I'm only 5'8"). The play itself was great. My wife... More

I live in the Midwest and knew nothing about the Hippodrome. I mentioned to my daughter that of the great 60's musicals I had not seen Jersey Boys and as a wonderful surprise she took me to the Hippodrome. As excited as I was to see Jersey Boys I was delighted to see the work that went into restoring the... More

Remarkable restoration of an extraordinary architectural gem! This theater holds ~ 2000 people for a very intimate evening with a musician or event. Loved seeing Jackson Browne and Brian Wilson this summer. Both relaxed and enjoyed the audience and everyone left singing out the doors.

These matinee tickets fell into our hands when family members double-booked themselves. A beautiful theater and, of course, the magic of Disney and live theater!

Went for a show and had a great experience. Parking was easy, restrooms were plentiful and the whole family enjoyed the show- would definitely return again.

This is a beautiful historic theater with wonderful architecture. There is not a lot of legroom, but I find the seats comfortable (although I'm only 5'1). Take the time to look around the lobby. There are many photos (from the Maryland Historical Society) of the old Baltimore theaters.

First time at this theater, although I've been to many in NYC. It truly is comparable! It's a beautiful old theater. I don't think there would be a bad seat in the house. Cabaret was a great show! We were there a little early so stopped at their cafe inside the theater for an appetizer and drink. We also parked... More

This theater is refurbished so well that it feels like you have been transported back in time. Arrive early to enjoy the architecture and old photos that are displayed. The restrooms were adequate, staff was pleasant, views of the stage were great and acoustics were good ...BUT the seats were so uncomfortable. Holding a light jacket in my lap with... More

Sat almost all the way to the back, upper level. It wasn't a problem at all. Could see and hear very well. Did not experience cramped seats as others mentioned (maybe this issue is for the lower level seats). Temperature was just fine.
