Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Took a stroll through the square and enjoyed the quietness as well as how peaceful it was. Beautiful small park well worth visiting.

My niece had the pleasure of holding her wedding to her best friend in Washington Square. What a beautiful place to have a wedding with a gazebo in the center and lots of shade trees to keep it cool and comfortable for the wedding party and guests. It was truly magical.

This is another one of Savannah's many squares. It is smaller than some of the other squares, but thats what adds to its charms. Its not as packed with people as the other squares too. Recommended.

We stayed on E Congress and walked thru this square on our way to River Street. Its well maintained.lush with beautiful plants and so charming. Since its somewhat off the beaten path of tourists, its a nice place to sit and relax. We staying on this square again next month and looking forward to it.

Washington Square is obviously named after George Washington who made an official visit to the city in 1791, one year after this square was developed. There are 2 historic houses facing the square, one being the International Seamen’s House and one which was once known as the Mulberry Inn and is now The Brice, A Kimpton Hotel. The paths in the park are clean and well maintained and the benches attractive. It's a quiet square. It's a bit more open than some of the others, which may explain that it is a bit more popular. It feels safe.

Washington Square is off the beaten tourist track of the historic district, adjacent to the elegant and modern Pacci Italian Kitchen, and just a couple of blocks from the historic Pirate's House restaurant. It's also just a few blocks from the Waving Girl statue. Here in Washington Square, you will see people walking their dogs, etc., among the impressive and gorgeous live oak trees. Few tourists, more locals. It's a nice break from the more heavily touristed parts of the historic district. It's worth a block or two detour if you're already on your way to any of the sites mentioned above.

This does not offer the large monuments or fountains but I found it to be one of the more tranquil spots to take a break.

The northeastern-most square in Savannah’s historic district, this was laid out in 1790 and named for George Washington. More peaceful than most squares, there are no monuments or statues here. A nice place to relax while exploring Savannah, but nothing specifically of interest here to warrant a separate trip.

This square was laid out in 1790, but not named until the following year after George Washington's visit to Savannah.
