This is a cool area to relax at. There are a lot of little shops and restaurants but i recommend going over to the river edge and enjoy the view. Walk all the way down to the waving girl statue and read the historical signs...More

Historic River Street. There is no other. Souvenier shops, candy shops (Savannah Candy Kitchen!), restaurants, street performers, dolphin tours and riverboat cruises. Take your pick and it's pretty much on River Street. Don't forget a ghost tour!

I liked the casualness and the fact that there is so much to choose from in a short walking distance. We parked our car at the hotel and never used it.

One of the busier areas in Savannah, parking is difficult and tourists are everywhere, but the wonderful scenery and the stroll make the trip worth it. A riverstreet lined with nice shops and restaurants under old buildings on one side and a riverwalk with benches...More

Lots to see and do! It's a great place to be, day or evening. You have lots of choices when it comes to places to eat, or activities to do.

Lots of restaurants and shops in this very historic place. Sit along the waterfront or take a cruise for a relaxing and casual experience..

We had a fun time walking around River Street. It is filled with fun shops on a very old street. The old cobblestones everywhere was so fun to walk on but also a little tricky. Each store is unqiue, but also tourist-y.

One of my favorite places in Savannah. It has lots of food and shopping, get your souvenirs here. In the evenings especially there are musicians and artists performing and that is fun. Our ghost tour left from here, and from the looks of it you...More

River Street seems to cater mostly to tourists. The shops are mainly gift stores and most of the restaurants are the same low standard rushed cuisine. The river is nice to look at and the Georgia Queen sternwheeler when docked is good for pictures. River...More

So, it was super crowded and I'm not a big drinker so I wasn't overly impressed. Being from the Gulf Coast beaches I felt like the river boat was cool but the water itself was just average. Fireworks didn't go off until 9:30 and we...More

Since your parents are elderly, like mine, a better restaurant setting would be better...perhaps Joe's Crab Shack. Yes, it's a franchise but it is on the water and you can walk and shop while they sit and wait for you... More

You can park right on River Street. $2 per hour. Free after 8 pm and on Sundays. Parked there last Fri Night no problem. But beware River Street is all cobblestones.
