Be prepared to walk and it's worth it. I enjoyed everything, the shopping, dining and sitting on the bench watching the ships, individual vendors, Loved It, Our next visit we plan to Cruise The Georgia Queen Ship!

There are some good restaurants on River Street, but it's fairly typical of a touristy row of shops, food, etc.

Looking at the buildings, the cobblestones and the ancient steep slate stairs; you can picture how life used to be here. Inside the buildings are found touristy type shops, lovely resteraunts and bars serving strong spirits. There is a lot to see, feel and imagine.......More

Filled with bars, gift shops and restaurants. Nice view of the water and you can walk along it for quite awhile. Very touristy and can get crowded. Preferred walking the squares and the neighbourhoods for a real Savannah experience but I guess it's still worth...More

On our way through, managed to take in a little of the Olde Towne, get a bite to eat, catch some scenery, and even relax for a bit. River St. dates back way before the revolution, and carries right through the Civil War...many nice shops,...More

And would have enjoyed the experience more if they had stayed home!! It was too hot to have them and they don't behave the way other dogs we saw!! Area was crowed but fun. Lot to see on the river itself- huge cargo ship brought...More

Beautiful place to stroll along waterfront. There is usually something going on such as local musicians displaying there talents. Cobblestone roads, so wear comfortable shoes! Free samples. Public bathrooms open at visitor center, but not always open.

This area is full of hotels and eateries. You can see the steam boat amongst the large cargo ships. Just wished better shopping.

The Barbque and blues festival was going on while we were there and the vibe at the riverfront was awesome. So much to do while there. Sit at the bar at the Cotton Exchange. Have a nice cocktail and order the shrimp low boil. Deeelish!

St. Patrick’s Day in Savannah is always a huge disappointment. Too many drunks, too many people from out of town trashing our beautiful city and too many people walking in the parade 👎 Few events in America glorify... More

We only tried 2 on the river. fiddler's Crab House & Huey's. Both were good. outside of that, our worst meal was at Lady & Son's (it wasn't bad; but it wasn't great). The Old Pink House is a must!
