Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

We stayed in the Arlington Suite. It was awesome. First off I loved the courtyard and hot tub. It was very welcoming. But then our room was a very nice size, it had seating to watch television a desk which we needed for working a mini kitchen and a nice fireplace which it was too warm to take advantage of but still added to the charm. The shower was excellent and the bed was comfortable. The only one negative was we could not get regular television. There was a guide in the room with an explanation of how to get T.V. but the fix did not work and the telephone number provided for questions is not up to date. I managed to watch something on net flix but otherwise a perfect stay and I highly recommend it. Right in the historic district, you can walk to many attractions.

Where do I start? The Inn is absolutely beautiful. Built in the 1800’s and true to that period. The people who worked there from the manager to the cooks were wonderful. A special shout out to Nate, the 3-11 manager. He was terrific! The breakfasts were delicious and they were very accommodating to any modifications to the menu that was requested. There were some negatives however. As a haunted location, the tour guides and tourists who came around nightly were a little loud and we would get woken up by them as they were right outside our room. The room itself was a basement room called the “Isaiah Davenport” room and, although it was obviously remodeled and updated, it was very small. There was no closet, only a hanging rack in the bathroom and the room was really small. We had to place our luggage on the bed in order to open it fully. The bed was a bit lumpy which hurt my wife’s back when she slept in it. Again, the place and people are amazing, just make sure you ask lots of questions about your room when booking.

It was our first trip to Savannah and we picked the Hamilton-Turner Inn. Right next to Lafayette Square and next to Cathedral of St John the Baptist. Staff was super friendly and helpful. Breakfast was delightful and it started our day in a good way.
They helped with restaurant recommendations and reservations.
Definitely a good quiet area to spend time.

There is wide variation in the quality of the rooms at the Hamilton-Turner. The high-priced rooms on the second and third-floors are spacious and richly decorated, with luxurious bathrooms and beautiful furnishings. The cheaper rooms on the lower floor (basement) are small, dark, and quite shabby by comparison, and, at $200 a night, they are terribly over-priced. We spent one night in the Flannery O’Connor room in the carriage house which was a better value for $200. Though it is very small, it is prettily-decorated, with a Jacuzzi tub and French doors opening onto a patio.
Food is not a strength. The breakfasts were not restaurant-quality, more like the kind of eggs and pancakes you might make for casual houseguests. (Nightly turn-down treats were overcooked chocolate chip cookies).
In its favor, the inn is across the street from a lovely square, and the building is a handsome old mansion that will look great in your photos.

Despite the magnificent location and idyllic preservation of this wonderful antebellum home on Lafayette square, we didn’t get a wink of sleep due to the worst bed in the entire hospitality industry. Having spent a delightful weekend here 6 months ago, we were hoping for a similar outcome but instead got up with back ache, shoulder and neck pains due to a mattress that was entirely devoid of support. On mentioning this to the manager as we checked out a day early, he admitted that he had the same mattress at home and that “it took ages and ages to get used to!!!” Instead of any offer to compensate us for our miserable night (and the fact that we had to pre-pay more than $400/night), he merely bid us farewell as we had to seek out a different option for the remainder of our Savannah stay. Not the definition of “hospitality” at all.

The common rooms are stunning and our room and bath were beautiful and luxurious. The bed was sooo comfortable and the bathroom has a large, walk-in shower and spacious vanity with double sinks and drawers. Additionally, housekeeping is outstanding. The house is immaculately clean from top to bottom. The breakfast was ample and delicious, and wine and hors d'oeuvres were excellent in the afternoon. There was always iced, fruited water or coffee and tea and cookies in the main parlor. The staff was friendly and welcoming. The only exception was the almost begruding offer to assist us with our bags when we checked in. (The offer came only after my 67 year old husband said to the innkeeper that he guessed he'd go bring our bags in. Since there is no elevator, this is no small feat. Another couple staying there told us they had had to,carry their bags up to the 3rd floor. It was not a big deal during our visit, but there is no valet parking nor private parking lot. You have to find parking on the street.

My 12 year old daughter and I spent a lovely evening and morning at this beautiful house steeped in history. Incredible staff and innkeepers. Our room was on terrace level - quaint and nicely appointed but faintly musty. Pick a room on upper levels. Robes were laid out, chocolates, bottles waters, and cookies. Nice! Breakfast of vegetable fritatta and grits was average, but yogurt with fruit and granola was nice. Fires were going and lovely guests were so much fun. We enjoyed being at this place. Great staff, perfect location. We walked to Bay Street and enjoyed the shops too!

Just returned from a week-long stay at the Hamilton-Turner House B&B. It was wonderful! Jane and her staff were extremely warm and helpful. Diane made wonderful breakfasts and Fred, the concierge, was most helpful in making arrangements for our tours and getting us information. Christine was very sweet about helping us with some of our scheduling of events.
The rooms were gorgeous and well-maintained by a friendly, hardworking staff. Couldn't ask for a better week. Would love to take up permanent residence.

We stayed at the Hamilton-Turner House for our first visit to Savannah. We enjoyed our visit there and took advantage of the tour of the city. The afternoon teas were wonderful. Unfortunately, we didn't see a ghost.
