The SCAD Museum of Art was founded in 2002 as part of the Savannah College of Art and Design in Savannah, Georgia. The museum's collection of more than 4,500 pieces includes works of haute couture, drawings, painting, sculpture, photography, prints and more. The SCAD Museum of Art is a teaching museum, serving Savannah College of Art and Design students and as well as members of the community and other visitors. A focal point is the Walter O. Evans Center for African American Studies, a multidisciplinary center for the study, understanding and appreciation of African American culture, art and literature. It is complemented by the André Leon Talley Gallery, named for the Vogue contributing editor and SCAD Board of Trustees member. The museum also features a 250-seat theater, a terrace and outdoor projection screen, a conservation studio, a museum café, as well as a 12-foot-long orientation touch table. An 86-foot tall steel and glass lantern welcomes visitors and elegantly redefines the Savannah city skyline.

SCAD which stands for Savannah College of Art and Design is highly noted in the world. This shop displays the original art from their students. Its over the top and wonderful to see first hand. The art is for sale as well. Great place to stop and experience!

$20 for a family of 3 or $10 each. No details of what you are looking at or explanations. Memorial to 79 dead people but where, why or when. Three slabs of counter top marble in a room? Could see that at Home Depot. Won't ever go again.

Thankfully we got to visit on a free weekend through Bank of America. It's just not the type of art that my wife and I enjoy. We would not go back.

A must see, a must visit and a must go back, because there is so much to grasp! A great cultural and educational place where you are well guided and leave with the impression you were in another planet! I liked it so much.

This Museum is a gem. Architecturally it is lovely. It was pleasant to sit on the outside terrace. The art work was first rate with some very cutting edge installations. We also saw a wonderful retrospective of Carolina Herrera's clothing. The presence of SCAD is really felt throughout the city in a positive way.

The SCAD school has had a very positive influence on this city. It has renovated buildings, brought in arts and culture. All of this is evident in this museum. It's a must see

Modern art in 6 or so galleries. Great little museum for the price, took about a half hour to walk though the whole thing.

Contemporary art along with a Caroline Herrara gown display which was very interesting. Lots of student art work. SCAD has really changed Savannah for the better adding culture along with all the history. You can tour this in 30 minutes. Fee was minimal and the art students were very friendly and helpful.

My husband and enjoyed a quick visit to the SCAD Museum of Art. The admission was free due to half of the exhibits being under construction. We go to see 4 out of the normal 7. They were interesting and unique. We probably spent about 45 minutes walking around. We were both glad we could fit it into our visit... More
