We had a great trip W/Steve. We enjoyed the cool drive on a hot day. We saw sights that we wouldn’t have seen by ourselves. I’ve done other tours but this was personalized to our interests. We went to a fabulous restaurant, The Wild. Food and atmosphere was wonderful. Plus it gave us a chance to ask questions of Steve and learn more Savannah history.

My wife and I spent a wonderful day with local guide and historian Steve Ellis. Most of the tour was by car and we started with an extensive tour of the Historic District. Steve has a wealth of knowledge that you can only get from a Savannah native. His family in Savannah goes back multiple generations. We were able to learn some things we would never have learned on any other tour. We covered a lot of ground and asked a lot of questions. We continued on out to Bonaventure Cemetery where we took an extended walk by many of most famous sites. We ended up at Steve’s family plot where many of his ancestors lie and some were very prominent citizens of Savannah. We then had a nice lunch at Drift Away Cafe, before we continuing out to Wormsloe Plantation for a photo op and then finally to the wonderful neighborhood of Isle of Hope. We drove past several beautiful homes including one built by Steve’s Grandfather. All in all it was a great time with Steve and we would highly recommend him. It was the perfect to start our trip to Savannah.

Thanks for the review. Y’all were a great couple to show Savannah to. Lots of astute questions. Having lunch together gave us a chance to just chat. I thoroughly enjoyed myself.😎

We first met Steve as our guide on the Old Savannah Trolley tour. He was a wealth of knowledge pointing out the historical significance of the various sites he drove us by. So impressed were we, the next day called him to line up a driving tour on our last day in Savannah. We enjoyed seeing Bonaventure Cemetary and learning the stories of some of the historical family plots, then drove by Wormsloe Plantation to see the Live Oak Dr. In addition, Steve pointed out the road he was driving on was an original race track before it was moved to Indianapolis 500! In between, we start at a really cool place for lunch outdoors and even arranged a ride to the airport! Steve is a gem!

We had an incredible tour with Steve Ellis on 1/11/21!!! We were fortunate to have a private Driving tour! We were scheduled to be with Steve for 3 hours but Steve is clearly passionate about his love for the history of Savannah and we had time so our tour was closer to 4 1/2 hours! It was awesome! Steve’s encyclopedic knowledge of Savannah’s history was amazing! We toured each of the squares, the waterfront and the Bonaventure Cemetery. We cannot recommend Steve highly enough! He also gave recommendations for a place to stop for dinner on our way back to Amelia Island in Darian, GA- Skippers Fish Trap, the food was SO GOOD with a beautiful view of the river! Excellent staff too. Steve called us the next day to recommend a few places to check out nearer to where we are staying including Kingsley Plantation. We could have spent a week with Steve and will definitely do another tour next time we get back to Georgia! Check Steve out on Facebook too. Steve Ellis #912-631-1004 Bonnie and Russ
