This museum was a surprise as it had more modern sculptures and activity based exhibits. Then there was a room devoted to the etchings of Rembrandt. This included a video that explained and displayed the process for making etchings.

Walked across the square from the Telfair Academy and immersed in a large light filled building with great mobiles. There was a special exhibit by Jaume Plensa, "Talking Continents" which was outstanding. Having seen his work in other cities, this was a real bonus for...More

Wow, thanks Taylor. That is a comprehensive review of Telfair Museums' Jepson Center. We can only add that we also have an exhibition by the Spanish sculptor Jaume Plensa on view through June 9th and Rembrandt and the Jewish Experience opens on March 15th.

I love the fact that the three museums are all accessed with one ticket ($18 pp for seniors, which is a steal) and the ticket lasts for a week, so there is no need to rush. The Jepson is a wonderful building (Moshe Safdie was...More

This museum is difficult to describe. The building is modern amongst many others that are old. The entry is very bright with high ceiling from which are suspended a lot of coloured acrylic shapes (that look sort of like butterflies). There are three levels with...More

Jepson Center and Telfair Museum are two different tours and buildings. While we enjoyed Telfair Museum with it's lovely partially guided tour, beautiful period artwork, furnishings and interiors, we did not feel the same about Jepson Center with it's contemporary, weird artwork and exhibits. Jepson...More

The Jepson was not my kind of art. The Telfair had lots of great art. And yay there was the Bird Girl at last. But she is not in a good place for photos sitting in front a window with sun shining through. Could not...More

Thank you for your comments. Bird Girl is currently in a temporary location. Her permanent home, "Before Midnight: Bonaventure and the Bird Girl," opens April 12th at the Telfair Academy. And we offer our Mansion to Museum tour several times a day, it provides greater...More

Great Impressionist exhibition on loan at the Telfair this January. The Telfair is a fabulous modern building with open bright windows and space.
