The heck out of me. We thought this was an actual remnant of a historical trail. But is is part of a path that the Fort built along the Columbia and the land bridge is a pedestrian bridge over the highway. The nice little exhibit with benches and a covered section and on the way from the parking (on the... More

It's terrific to have the opportunity to cruise across busy SR 14 on the land bridge. The interpretive materials are well done, and the view is worth the walk or ride. We took our Ebikes up there several times last summer and enjoyed the ride and the view. Depending on which way you're going there are plenty of other sights... More

The bridge offers a nice safe connection across Highway 14 between the Fort Vancouver area and the Renaissance Trail along the Columbia River. I use it frequently on walks and see many other walkers, runners and bikers doing the same. There are occasional homeless persons staying dry under the railroad overpass at the south end of the bridge but I... More

The wonderful paved trail meanders near the fort Vancouver buildings, you can almost hear the rich sounds of American history if you stop and listen. The rows of marching soldiers, the light gallop of the Calvary. Old fruit trees mark the way and the silhouette of the old fort forms a long shadow on a hot afternoon. Then the path takes... More

Don't get me wrong. This land bridge is lovely and if you're walking in the area, it's a nice place to explore. HOWEVER, that being said: This currently ranks #5 out of things to do in Vancouver, and that's just...weird. People, if you are visiting from far away and wanting to explore Vancouver, please don't feel like you have to... More

While visiting the Fort Vancouver Historical Site, my friend convinced me to walk the bridge. It starts at the Fort and goes over Highway 14. It's not a strenuous walk but it's interesting to walk over the highway with no vehicular traffic on the bridge. On the south side, we found a nice place to eat and have a beer.... More

I tricked my husband into walking from our hotel to the national park. It's about a 3/4 mile walk from downtown, but a beautiful walk that takes you over the interstate and back around to the park. I had a great time as did he once he got over it! Worth the time!

The Land Bridge is part of the Fort Vancouver National Historic Site and provides a link between the pleasant Waterfront Renaissance Trail along the Columbia River and the large park with its historic buildings and reproductions on the opposite side of the RR tracks and the busy highway. Access from the river side is a little obscure - you cross... More

I was at Fort Vancouver and decided to take a stroll. The path lead me to this land bridge that got me around the freeway so that I could make it to the Columbia River. I was surprised to find facts and details concerning the past. This is the Confluence Land Bridge. That crosses over the highway to reconnect people... More

We use the land bridge as part of our walking loop. We park along the Columbia River, walk over the land bridge, past Fort Vancouver, up the hill and then to the Vancouver Market. It helps us get some good exercise before eating at the market. The land bridge has some neat old photos of the fort on its sides.... More
