Great place to explore. Really moving to learn about the battle and walk the fields. You can see original walls, explore the monuments and spend time reflecting on what happened here in 1862.

Fortunately for me, my granddaughter lives just outside the parks boundaries so when we visit we take advantage of this uncrowded, unhurried, natural area for walks, often encountering wildlife or the cool of this green space. It's a locals favorite for running/jogging and cycling. Of...More

This is the first time I ever thoroughly understood how stupid the tactics were used during the Civil war. The distances were so short between friend and foe. If your house was in the middle of the battle, you would have to be terrified. The...More

If you just visit the Fredericksburg Battlefield, yes. But there is also Chancellorsville, the Wilderness, and Spotsylvania Battlefields in the immediate area. That would be an overnighter. Have a great time!

There are not riding horses experiences any where close by. Again the Fredericksburg Area Vistors Center can help you out. Riding trails are located in more rural areas of the county.
