The Folk School of Fairbanks offers year-round, affordable classes and programs in a wide variety of hands-on disciplines for adults and youth, teaching traditional skills using natural materials. We are part of a 200-year-old tradition of folk schools but with a uniquely Alaskan focus. We emphasize life-long learning, and to help students reconnect with the earth.

I just finished the eating spoon carving class and it was great! I really enjoyed the small class size and the instructor did well in explaining the process. I'm looking forward to taking another class soon!
