A makeshift hotel where everything is made of ice. It was colder than the outside, and we are talking Alaska here. I think you can actually book to spend the night here. Gorgeous ice sculptures. You can have a martini in a glass made of...More

The ice museum was nice but nothing great. Chena has lots of other great stuff to offer, this was mediocre in my opinion. But, give it a try if you are there.

It's small, but it's was worth seeing. Our guide was great. She took the time to explain about the artists and the process and made a delicious appletini.

Its a well laid home with furniture and fixtures - all carved out of ice. Very thoughtfully planned, including a bar wherein the stools for sitting are also made of ice! Despite the chill inside, its so sweet n cozy!!

I enjoyed the museum. There are several awesome ice sculptures including an igloo, a bar, bedroom and an outhouse. The sculptures were made by a couple who have won the World Ice Art Championship multiple years. The building was not large but it was interesting....More

A year round attraction that's fun for all ages. Some of the ice sculptures are over 10 years old and are done by champion carvers. We enjoyed an apple martini in an ice goblet at the ice bar for $15. Admission is also $15. Takes...More

We drove out to Chena Hot Springs on a day trip from Fairbanks (during a storm...the roads were doable, but not great, the plows didn't come through until the afternoon and there was ~ 12" of snow from the night before). The ice museum was...More

The museum has beautiful ice structures. I spent about 30 minutes inside taking pictures. It is located in a highly tourist-y area. Most people who stayed longer were drinking their appletini and just hanging out.

I was with my friend who is a local in Fairbanks Alaska. If you must make one stop you must go to the Ice palace. Bring your own bathing suit and flip flops, but no worries they have extra if you need. Do bring your...More

So it's $15 a person. The "tour" is just you walking around to see a handful of ice structures. Not worth the cost. I might pay $5 for it. On top of it, the bar only serves one thing: apple martinis at $15 a pop....More

Definitely a bathing suit for the hot springs, but a coat for the museum. It is cold in the ice museum. As I recall, they do have heavy jackets that you can wear. We went in February so had warm coats and gloves... More

They provide you with winter jackets at the aurora ice museum, so there is no need to bring a parka if you are traveling in june. I would say to be sure to bring a swim suit to the hot springs, and to wear comfortable... More
