Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Went as a family last Saturday 8/20. We're from Jersey where most rinks are Crowded with kids. We should've realized that as NYC public park it is subject to the public. Parking is almost impossible unless you pay for it. While the whole pier park underneath the Brooklyn Bridge is nice, but after going through 2 plus years of Covid 19 pandemic it's sad to wear a mask and STILL smell weed coming from other people's mouth. My motto is if you can smell weed through a mask who knows what a person may inhale. Not to mention the mob of teens having a twerk-fest right in the park before being broken up by police. By the way the rink is sorely in need of repair. The only good thing was the employees who work so hard. Kudos. Maybe since it's DUMBO there should be a permanent police presence before something serious happens to one of the many people who spend money which makes DUMBO DUMBO. WON'T be coming back!

We walked here from Pier 1, after taking the East River Ferry on a balmy 4th July. It was very hot and a welcome place to comfortably sit in the shade while those more active, hired skates and rolled around the rink.

We walked here from the Brooklyn Bridge, using it as a hangout during a rainstorm. It really is an impressive facility, and it's got a LOT more than rollerblading inside. I saw handball (three courts), lots of basketball courts, the skating rink, and lots more. I think the sign out front even advertised bacci ball, if that's your kind of thing. Anyway, it was nice to see a facility like this dedicated to purely playing sports, and a lot of people were taking advantage of it. I know I'd visit it if I lived in the area, (it even has a pool, but not underneath the same roof). I do recommend it.

Pier 2 Roller Rink sits on the East River in Brooklyn, next to the Brooklyn Bridge. It is an easy walk from anywhere in the Brooklyn Heights area. I visited the rink several times while staying near Tillman and Gold Sts, about a half hour walk away. The Pier is very popular for various sports, including basketball. The rink itself is quite large and well-maintained, and unless school groups are visiting, it is not crowded for much of the day. Wearing gloves is mandatory and they are provided for free. As I was a beginner, it was important that they had Skate Mates for rent, which kept me from falling, especially when there were inexperienced kids out of control near me.
